Xiaomi’s Redmi brand today announced Redmi Router AX5, a new router with Wi-Fi 6 support, independent 4-way signal amplifier to eliminate signal issues, mesh networking support to cover large apartment with multiple routers and the company says that it has been optimized for smart home offering stable connection to 128 devices. It has new Qualcomm 5-core 14nm processor with independent NPU network acceleration engine, hardware-level acceleration. Xiaomi opens crowdfunding for Mi Electric Toothbrush T100 in India for Rs. 549

Xiaomi today opened crowdfunding for its new Mi Electric Toothbrush T100 in India, after the T300 back in February. It has Ultra-soft bristles, GMSoft Sonic high frequency motor, Dual pro-brush modes with equiclean auto timer, Low-noise design, IPX7 Water0Proof body and promises 30 days Battery Life on a single charge. Xiaomi says that the brush-heads need to be replaced every 3-4 months and it will be sold separately on mi.com in the future. HTC schedules new smartphone launch event for June 16

HTC has scheduled an event on June 16th in Taiwan to introduce a new smartphone. The company also says  “1+1 unlimited possibilities”, and the invite has Vive icon along with the HTC icon. Vivo has finally started rolling out Funtouch OS 10, the next major Funtouch update based on Android 10 for its Z1Pro and Z1x smartphones in India. The Z1 Pro was launched in India back in July 2019 and the Z1x was launched in September, both running Android 9.0 (Pie) with Funtouch OS 9. “Touchless” cash withdrawals using smartphone being tested at ATMs across India

Withdrawing cash from ATMs can be very risky during the COVID-19 pandemic, since it requires you to touch buttons on a machine that could have previously come in-contact with an infected person.  A solution to it is to have contact-less ATM withdrawals, and AGS Transact Technologies Limited (AGSTTL) is currently testing such a technology for ATMs across India.

Apple granted software patent that describes social distant group selfies

Apple has been granted an interesting new patent for a software application that would be used to create “synthetic group selfies”. The patent describes a method used to create group selfies with multiple participants who are not together at the time of clicking the photo, which is perfectly applicable during these times of social distancing practices.
