Sony Mobile has cut the price of Xperia XA1 and Xperia XA1 Ultra smartphone in India by Rs. 2000. The XA1 that was launched back in April for Rs. 19,990, is now available for Rs. 17,990 and the XA1 Ultra that was launched for Rs. 29,990 in July now costs Rs. 27,990. LG launched the Q6 smartphone with 5.5-inch FHD+ FullVision display with 18:9 aspect ratio, facial recognition and military grade durability in India last month. Today it has launched the LG Q6+ with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage in the country. All other specifications of the phone are same as the Q6. It runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) and has a 7000 series aluminum frame.
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has revised interconnection usage charges (IUC) after over 2 years. It has further reduced mobile to mobile to 6 paise per minute from 14 paise per minute from 2015. This comes after an open-house held by TRAI in July regarding interconnection usage charges (IUC) where Reliance Jio proposed to make IUC zero, while incumbents such as Airtel, Idea Cellular and Vodafone India were against it, demanding for IUC to be raised to 30-40 paise per minute. Huawei’s Honor brand today launched the Honor 10000mAh power bank in India, as it has announced its first Honor Big Diwali Sale that will take place between 20th September and 24th September. It has also announced offers on its Honor 8 Pro and Honor 6X smartphones as well as flat 50% discount on its accessories. After teasing on its social channels, Moto India has sent out invites for the the launch of Moto X4 smartphone in the Moto X series in India on October 3rd. It was unveiled IFA event recently and packs dual 12MP and 8MP rear cameras to take images with blurred background, portraits, selective black and white and has dual Autofocus Pixel technology for faster focus in low light. It has a 16MP front camera with a 4MP new adaptive low light mode.
Intex has launched Cloud C1 and Aqua S1, two new budget smartphone with 4G VoLTE support and Android 7.0 (Nougat). These have 4-inch WVGA and 5-inch FWVGA displays, respectively and have 1GB RAM. Panasonic has launched Eluga Ray 500 and Eluga Ray 700, two new smartphones in the Eluga Ray series. The Eluga Ray 500 has a 5-inch HD screen and features 13-megapixel primary rear camera along with an 8-megapixel secondary camera, while the Eluga Ray comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p display and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash. Xiaomi launched the Mi Max 2 smartphone in India earlier this year with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage for Rs. 16999. Today it has launched the 32GB storage version of the phone in the country. Other specifications are same, including a 6.44-inch 1080p 2.5D curved glass display with 0.7mm ultra narrow bezel on the side, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, 5300mAh battery with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 along with parallel charging and Snapdragon 625 with 4GB of RAM. Micromax launched Bharat 2 smartphone earlier this year and the company said that it sold 2 million units since launch. Today the company has launched Bharat 3 and Bharat 4, budget 4G VoLTE smartphones in the country. Both these are powered by MediaTek MT6737M SoCs with 1GB RAM, run Android 7.0 (Nougat) and have 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash. After launching across India earlier this year, Airtel Payments Bank, a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel has announced integration of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) on its digital platform, making it the first payments bank to do so. This will allow customers to make secure digital payments to online/offline merchants and make instant money transfers to any bank account in India.
