Uber, a popular travel service across the globe, had come to India last year and have been gradually expanded. The latest city that Uber is entering is Pune, Maharastra. Uber is already available in other Indian cities like New Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai. Pune is the sixth city in India where Uber is currently available.

The app has a unique balance meter that induces customer to keep more balance in the account and remain in the Green Zone. There is also an option to turn off this feature. Other features include, option to scan and store cheque images for future reference, send sms to beneficiary after fund transfer, locate nearest ATM or branch and more. Airtel has launched 3G services in Punjab. It rolled out 4G services in Chandigarh – Tricity last year and in Ludhiana in Punjab last week. It offers 2G, 3G and 4G services in these two areas in Punjab and it also offers 4G on mobile in Ludhiana. After releasing the Xolo A510s Lite, Xolo is all set to release new smartphones in its Q CORE series. The Xolo Q600s, successor of last year’s Q600 and the Xolo Q1200 are now available from online retailer Snapdeal. The Q600s would be the company’s first smartphone to run on Android 4.4 (KitKat). The company has already promised Android KitKat update for a range of older devices. With a 4.5-inch qHD display, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and 1GB RAM, this aims to compete with other budget smartphones like Moto E, Micromax Unite 2 A106 and the Lava Iris X1. It was announced last December and packs a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display at 440 PPI, powered by a 2 GHz MediaTek MT6592 Octa-Core processor with Mali 450 GPU and runs Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Xolo launched the A510s as the successor of A500s couple of months back. Today the company has unveiled the A500s Lite, a variant of last year’s A500s smartphone. It has a 4-inch (480 x 800 pixels) touch screen IPS display, powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), similar to A500s but this has a 3-megapixel fixed-focus rear camera with LED flash, instead of 5-megapixel camera. Poor user demand has resulted into a sluggish start of the 2014 for the Indian tablet market. As per recent report from IDC, tablet shipments in India dropped by 32.8 per cent for the first quarter of 2014 at 0.78 million units.

Philips Mobile has entered into Indian smartphone market with three new smartphones S308, W3500 and W6610. It has also launched a feature phone E130. The S308 in the S Series has a 4″ WVGA screen, powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and comes with a 5-megapixel camera. It runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and comes with dual SIM support. iBall Slide 3G 7803Q-900, the latest tablet in the Slide Performance series is now available from online retailer Infibeam. It has a 7.85-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) capacitive multi-touch IPS display, powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core Cortex A7 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has dual SIM support and 3G connectivity. Even though it lacks an earpiece, it supports hands-free voice calling. LG unveiled the L Series III lineup that includes L40, L70 and L90 at the MWC 2014 back in February. Both the L70 Dual and L90 Dual smartphones went on sale in India recently. Today, the LG L80 Dual (D380) has been listed on the official LG India website, priced at Rs. 17,500 (MRP). Even though the phone was showcased at the MWC earlier this year, press images of the LG L80 Dual surfaced in Russia last month and it went on the official Russian website few weeks back. HTC released the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the HTC One in India earlier this year, now the company has started rolling out the Sense 6 update for the Indian users. Last month HTC promised that it would release the Sense 6 update for the HTC One users starting from May, and it has kept its promise.
