Panasonic announced Toughpad FZ-F1 and Toughpad FZ-N1, two new rugged smartphones running Windows 10 IoT Mobile Enterprise and Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop), respectively at the MWC 2016 in Barcelona. These smartphones have a 4.7-inch HD glove enabled, multi-touch, sunlight viewable display, powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor and come with IP65, IP67 and MIL-STD-810G ratings with drop rating of 6 feet, so they can stand up to the abuse of the most demanding usage environments and also submersible, in up to 3.3 feet of water for 30 minutes. HP Elite X3 with Windows 10, Snapdragon 820, 4GB RAM announced

HP has officially announced its first Windows 10 phone Elite X3, as expected. The Elite X3 sports a 5.96-inch AMOLED display with quad HD 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution with Gorilla Glass on top.

It has a 10.1-inch HD IPS display, is powered by a Quad-Core Intel Cherry Trail T3 Z8350 processor, has a 5-megapixel rear camera without flash, 2-megapixel front-facing camera and comes bundled with a keyboard that has a built-in SIM slot for 4G LTE connectivity, so that you can use it as a Wi-Fi hotspot for up to 15 users.

Microsoft has scooped up Groove music player iOS app for an undisclosed sum. The Groove app is developed by a Montreal-based startup, Zikera. As a result of the acquisition, Groove will no longer be available for download.

Microsoft Surface revenue up 29%, phone revenue declined 49% in Q2 FY 2016

Microsoft has announced earnings for Q2 2016 where it reported $25.7 billion in revenue and $6.3 billion in net income. It looks like Surface is finally doing the job for Microsoft, as it recorded $1.35 billion in revenue, up from $672 million in previous quarter and up from $1.1 billion year-over-year.

Windows 10 Mobile expected to roll out in February

Back in October soon after the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL smartphones running Windows 10 Mobile were introduced, Microsoft said that Windows 10 update will be rolling out for existing Windows Phone 8.1 devices in December. Later it said that the update is delayed till early 2016. Now Venture Beat is reporting that Windows 10 Mobile to current Windows Phone 8 handsets will be delayed by another month.
