In a interesting turn of events Microsoft who is the maker of Windows Mobile Operating System has signed a Patent agreement with phone maker HTC. Taiwan based HTC has been one of the biggest supporters of Windows Mobile so far and now they are one of the major adopters of Android with handsets like the Google Nexus One, HTC Desire and Legend.As a part of the new agreement HTC will have to pay Microsoft a royalty. Looks like Android OS has some Intellectual Property issues.

Microsoft Windows Mobile grew popular mainly due to the support for Office documents and MS Exchange. But the implementation in WinMo was not very usable and the hardware was not great. The Dell Lightning is the strongest among the new lot of devices from Dell. It is the only one to run on Windows 7. All the other handsets run on one version of Android or the other.
While we are a tad disappointed that Microsoft PINK aka KIN Phones launched in USA today on Verizon’s network. But now a tweet from Vodafone UK confirms that the KIN is indeed going to be available in UK too soon.
The KIN2 is the widescreen , fully loaded version of the KIN1 and here are some official photos of the KIN2 or KIN TWO. HP just posted a short video of it’s upcoming Slate PC and interestingly most of the highlights of this product from HP are features missing on the Apple iPad which just went on sale this Saturday .
Its got a Web Cam, Full Flash support , Camera , Memory Card Slot. Tablet computers are the future and the iPad kicked of the revolution. Android , Windows and Linux tablets is a space to watch for and if these devices come with impressive specs which are better than most smartphones. I’ll pickup one of these and trade my Smartphone for a Nokia 1100. What do you guys think ? Will tablets replace smartphones ?
