Karbonn A99, A16, A12 Plus and A18 Plus

Karbonn has released three new phones in the Indian markets. Karbonn A99, A16 and A12+ is now available online and the A18+ is listed online as coming soon. The A99, A16 and A12+ comes with about 4-inch display, while the A18+ features a 5-inch (480 x 854 pixels) display. These are powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor, run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and features a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash with a front-facing camera. HTC One mini officially launched in India for Rs. 36,790

The HTC One mini was announced as the company’s answer to people wanting a compact version of the popular flagship – One, but it arguably did a “mini” on the specifications too, which left people wanting more, especially with that price tag. As if things couldn’t get any worse, the One mini has finally gotten its official launch in India, and it has a MOP price of Rs. 36,790, well above the earlier price some e-tailers had posted. While the price may be a bit on the higher side, the One mini does bring a lot of features that were made popular by the One, including the 4 MP UltraPixel camera, the HTC Zoe camera feature and a really good SLCD2 screen spanning 4.3 inches and sporting a 1280×720 resolution. It is definitely good looking too, borrowing from the design on the One, but with more polycarbonate on the sides and the front.

Xolo has launched the Play Tab 7.0, the company’s latest tablet in the Play series as we reported last month. It has a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) multi-touch IPS display, powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor with ULP GeForce GPUand runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera and packs a 4000 mAh battery. Xolo launched the Xolo Tab last month powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 and voice calling, but this lacks 3G support or voice calling. Plants vs. Zombies 2 for Android released globally

Plants vs. Zombies 2 released for iPhone and iPad back in August. It saw a soft roll out in Australia and New Zealand last week. Now the game is available for all the Android users globally. This is a sequel to the first Plants vs. Zombies games, and this is a time-traveling adventure that lets you play through different historical eras. Twitter for Android arrives for Tablets, debuts on Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition

Twitter has finally released the official Android app for tablets. It is not available for all the tablets yet, but Twitter has announced that the app would first be available for Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition. The Landscape view shows Tweets, conversations, Trends, accounts to follow and more. You can just tap a tweet that expand on the right side to show photos, videos and previews. Apple Might Be Cutting iPhone 5C Production

Reports say that Apple might be reducing the production of it’s iPhone 5C by 50% – from 300,000 units to 150,000 units. The source which leaked of the iPhone 5S and 5C before their announcements, claims that the reason behind this is the fall in the Grey market pricing for the phone.

LG has officially announced the G Pro Lite, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone. It surfaced recently and packs a 5.5-inch (960 ×540 pixels) IPS display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6577processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a Stylus Pen for handwriting that can be stored conveniently in a slot. It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with BSI sensor and LED flash and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Intex Aqua HD Unboxing

Intex is fairly a newcomer in the Indian Smartphone market and it started launching Android devices much after Micromax or Karbonn, but now they have caught up with the lot by releasing MediaTek based devices under the Aqua range. We saw the cheapest Android 4.2.2 phone from the same company, and it even launched its flagship 1080p device – the Aqua i7. But today we have another 720p entry from Intex in the form of the Aqua HD. It sports a 4.7 inch HD screen and a 13 megapixel camera with an interesting design and build quality. Nokia Lumia 1020 Camera Samples

Nokia Lumia 1020 is currently being hailed as the king of smartphone photography and not many people can deny that fact. With the upcoming transition over to Microsoft, Nokia won’t exist as an independent company anymore, but they signed off in style with Lumia 1020 and its amazing 41MP PureView camera. All this PureView craze started off when they announced the Nokia 808 PureView Symbian smartphone with a 41MP camera and this was PureView Phase 1 according to Nokia. Then later that year, Nokia announced a Windows Phone PureView device ie The Nokia Lumia 920. Although this one did not have a huge 41MP sensor, it came with impressive low light photography and OIS(Optical Image Stabilization). This was dubbed as PureView Phase 2 by Nokia.

With the Nokia Lumia 1020, Nokia nailed it by combining the PureView Phase 1 and Phase 2 into a single camera module. The camera sensor on the Lumia 1020 is a 41MP sensor that comes with OIS and captures impressive low-light photos. Samsung Galaxy S4 mini and Galaxy S3 get price cut, now available for Rs. 22080 and Rs. 24900

Samsung has cut the price of the Galaxy S4 mini and the Galaxy S3 in India. The Galaxy S3 got a price cut in India back in February. It was launched in India in May 2012 at a MRP of Rs. 43,180. It is now available for Rs. 24,900 after the recent price cut. No sign of price cut for the 32GB version of the Galaxy S3 yet. This is the first price cut for the Galaxy S4 mini since its launch earlier this July for Rs. 27990. The Galaxy S4 mini is now available for Rs. 22,080 after the price cut. Samsung has announced the Galaxy J (SC-02F), a variant of the Galaxy S4 is Japan for NTT Docomo in their Winter 2013 range as rumored earlier. It has a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display, powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). It packs a 13.2MP rear camera with LED Flash, Zero Shutter Lag, BSI and Full HD video recording and a 2.1MP front-facing camera. It packs 3GB of RAM, 2600 mAh battery and is 8.6mm thick. It has a 4.3-inch (1280 x 720pixels) Triluminos Display with with X-Reality engine, powered by 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Sony G lens with a 27mm wide angle f/2.0 aperture custom 1/2.3″ Sony Exmor RS image sensor, BIONZ image processing engine, 1080p video recording and a 2-megapixel HD front-facing camera, similar to the Xperia Z1.
