BlackBerry has updated the BlackBerry Messenger Beta for Android that brings BBM Voice and BBM Channels to the Android app. BBM Voice was released on BBM for BlackBerry devices last year that lets users to call your BBM friends directly from the chat screen. BBM Channels was released for BlackBerry devices that lets you join conversations happening with the BBM community such as brands and communities. Sony schedules an event on January 14th in China, Xperia Z1 mini expected

Sony would unveil a host of home appliances, gadgets and mobile devices at the International CES next week. Sony China has set a press event in China on January 14th 2014. Even though the press invite doesn’t reveal much details , the colors in the Sony China invite shows Lime, Black, White and Pink, similar to the Sony Xperia Z1 f (SO-02F), the Japanese variant of the Z1 mini that was released for NTT Docomo last year. Google and LG partnered to launch the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition back in December last year. We already unboxed the tablet, here we have the benchmarks of the tablet. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz with Adreno 320 GPU and packs 2GB of LPDDR2 RAM, similar to the global variant of the LG G Pad 8.3. It has a 8.3-inch Full HD IPS WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels) display and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Let’s see how it performs in various synthetic benchmark tests. Since Google has optimized the processor to use the minimal use of CPU cores when the phone is idle, some benchmark might not show the correct scores.

Acer Iconia B1-720 and Iconia B1-721 with 7-inch display, 1.3GHz dual-core processor announced

Acer has announced Iconia B1-720 and B1-721, upgraded version of last year’s Iconia B1-A71 tablet. It ha a 7-inch capacitive touch screen 10-point multi-touch display based on One Glass Solution technology and is powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor (Probably MediaTek MT6572, similar to the Liquid Z5. It runs on Android Jelly Bean OS, but the version is not available yet. It also comes with a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera for video chats. The Iconia B1-721 has 3G support and the Iconia B1-720 comes with WiFi. Both these have 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal and an expansion slot. It comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera with 5 elements f2.4 lens, LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM support with dual standby. Acer has just announced that Acer Iconia A1-830 tablet after teasing it for the past few days. It has a 7.9-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) LED-backlit IPS display with 178 degree viewing angle and 4:3 aspect ratio and is powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor with Hyper-Threading technology. It has a aluminum metal back cover and sturdy frame for enhanced durability and weighs 380 grams. Android version is not available yet, but it is likely to run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Lava Iris 405+ that was spotted online earlier this week has been officially launched in India. It has a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It comes with a 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera, similar to the Iris 405. It also has dual SIM support with dual standby similar to other Iris smartphones. It has 3G support, 512MB RAM and packs a 1400 mAh battery. ZTE to unveil Grand S II, BlueWatch Smartwatch and a Phablet with 5.7-inch HD display at CES 2014

ZTE has announced that it would unveil the Grand S II, the successor of Grand S that was unveiled at the CES 2013 last year. It would also launch BlueWatch, its first Smartwatch and its first phablet with a 5.7-inch HD display and dual screen functionality.
