Asus has finally announced the new Padfone Infinity at an event in Taipei as they promised last week. The new Padfone Infinity is the fourth device in the Padfone series that lets you dock the phone in the Padfone station to convert it into a tablet. The new Padfone Infinity packs a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS display similar to the last-gen device, but this is powered by a 2.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with Adreno 320 GPU and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) out of the box. Samsung has finally launched the Galaxy Note 3 in India as we reported last week. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was announced at the IFA 2013 and the pre-bookings for it started few days back on the official Samsung eStore. It packs a 5.7-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Super AMOLED display, powered by 1.9 GHz Octa Core ( A15 1.9 GHz + A7 1.3 GHz) Processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front-facing camera. It packs 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory,  microSD slot (up to 64GB) and 3200 mAh battery. Lava Iris 505 and Iris 506Q, two new Android smartphones are now available for sale from online retailer Snapdeal. The Iris 505 has a 5-inch  (854×480 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. The Iris 506Q has a 5-inch qHD  (960 × 540 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor. Both these phones feature a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, 720p HD video recording and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. These run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and come with Dual SIM support with dual standby and 3G connectivity. As you all know , the FoneArena team was IFA 2013 bringing you tons of content from the German capital Berlin.Just when we thought IFA2013 was coming to an end and we had to pack our bags to fly back home, we got a chance to try out Google Glass and hence we managed to record a demo too! If you are excited about wearable gadgets like smart watches , Google Glass is certainly going to impress you. Glass was launched almost a year ago at Google I/O and is still not available to the general public and it is selectively available only in the US to a hand picked set of developers and partners. Jolla’s Sailfish OS now fully compatible with Android apps and Android hardware

Seen as a major move from a small, yet significant new player in the mobile industry, Finalnd’s Jolla(pronounced as yo-la) announced today that the Sailfish OS is now fully compatible with Android apps as well as Android hardware. It was already confirmed that Sailfish would run Android apps, but the question was when. Now we know.

Taking advantage of the already robust and immensely popular Android ecosystem is what Jolla have done, on top of the unique UX the Sailfish OS offers. Not only you can download popular Android apps on the Sailfish OS, which Jolla claims, is without any modifications, the operating system is also Android hardware compatible. Meaning Vendors can take Sailfish OS and make devices with their current Android-based hardware implementations. Or one day, you can possibly load Sailfish on your Android phone, if you wish.

Samsung plans to launch sub-Rs.15000 smartphones in India this month

Samsung plans to launched two new devices this month priced less than Rs. 15,000 in India, according to a recent report from PTI. Samsung launched the Galaxy S4 zoom and the Galaxy S4 mini in India back in July that are price more than Rs. 25,000. The company also launched a range of tablets in the Tab 3 series and the Tab 3 210 went on sale earlier this month. Both these phones are aimed at mid-segment market. LG G Pad 8.3 Hands-on

LG announced their first tablet in nearly two years at IFA 2013 in Berlin – LG G Pad 8.3. The G Pad 8.3 has its design language from the company’s current flagship, G2 and has a very big 8.3inch display. We managed to get our hands on the LG G Pad 8.3 and do check out that video right below.

One of the biggest issues with using a satellite navigation (sat-nav) in your car is that you need to find a way to attach the suction cup to the windscreen so you can see the information displayed without the sat-nav being a distraction whilst you’re driving. So far all the flagship smartphones had a 5-inch starting from the Micromax Canvas A100. Even the Micromax Canvas 4 that we reviewed recently had a 5-inch HD display. Micromax launched the Canvas Doodle 2 A240 recently with a 5.7-inch HD display at a price tag of Rs. 19,990. We reviewed the first A111 Canvas Doodle last month, which was launched back in May. Even though the Doodle comes under the Canvas series, it was not the company’s flagship phone. The Canvas Doodle 2 costs twice as much as the first Doodle. Twitter for Android v5.0 Beta brings new UI, Navigation menu and more

Twitter for Android 5.0 Beta

Twitter introduced a closed beta at the end of August, now the app has received a major update that brings a completely new UI with separate tabs for Home, Notifications, Messages, Activity, Trending, Find People and Me. You can swipe to switch between these apps. There is also a Navigation menu for these with notification count that could be re-organized. It uses your Twitter background image as the background for this menu. These is also in-line image previews that could be disabled from the settings. I was in Berlin, Germany for IFA 2013 last week and managed to pick an LTE version of the Nexus 7 2013 which is currently on sale only in a few countries including Germany and UK. We had already unboxed the WiFi only version previous on FoneArena and like always we are always excited about any device with a SIM card slot and here we have the unboxing of the Nexus 7 2013 LTE version.

We covered the launch of the LG G2 in New York just a few weeks back and and this fully loaded smartphone is about to go on sale in the US and several other markets soon. We managed to grab one just in time for  a quick unboxing.  The G2 is one of the first phones to be powered by the blazing fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor like the Sony XPERIA Z Ultra. LG has done away with all buttons on the front and the sides of the phone and decided to put them on the back for easy access.How do the volume keys and power button look on the back of a phone ?
