ZTE has announced the Grand S II, the successor of the Grand as it promised last week. It has 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) full HD IPS display, powered by a 2.3 GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 800 processor and runs on Android OS. It comes with 13-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, full HD video recording and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Micromax LapTab dual boot Android and Windows 8.1 device announced

Popular budget smartphone brand, Micromax, just announced its entry into a brand new product category. At the Consumer Electronics Show, The company has announced a dual boot tablet that will join its line of products which includes smartphones, tablets and HDTVs.

Called the LapTab, the Micromax product will be powered by an Intel Atom processor. The device will run both Windows 8.1 and Android Jelly Bean so that you can switch between the two depending on your usage requirement. The rest of the specifications are fairly mid range. HP launched Slate 21, the company’s first All-in-One (AiO) PC running runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) last year. Now the company has come up with a refreshed version of the AiO at the CES 2014, calling it Slate21 Pro. It has the same 21.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) full HD capacitive reclining IPS touchscreen display with wide viewing angles and is powered by a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor. Broadcom, a company that powers most of the WiFiac chips inside smartphones these days had been very quiet in the SoC business, but they had recently announced new chips and a partnership with Xolo for their Quad Core low end chip. The fruition of that partnership is the Xolo Q1000 Opus, yet another Q1000 that looks and performs nothing like the other one. This low-mid range device, that launched to retail in December last year, is priced at Rs. 9,990 and has modest specifications to rival the competition in the same segment. Google acquires Timely Android Alarm Clock app maker Bitspin

BlackBerry has updated the BlackBerry Messenger Beta for Android that brings BBM Voice and BBM Channels to the Android app. BBM Voice was released on BBM for BlackBerry devices last year that lets users to call your BBM friends directly from the chat screen. Sony schedules an event on January 14th in China, Xperia Z1 mini expected

Sony would unveil a host of home appliances, gadgets and mobile devices at the International CES next week. Sony China has set a press event in China on January 14th 2014. Even though the press invite doesn’t reveal much details , the colors in the Sony China invite shows Lime, Black, White and Pink, similar to the Sony Xperia Z1 f (SO-02F), the Japanese variant of the Z1 mini that was released for NTT Docomo last year. LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition Benchmarks

Google and LG partnered to launch the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition back in December last year. We already unboxed the tablet, here we have the benchmarks of the tablet. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz with Adreno 320 GPU and packs 2GB of LPDDR2 RAM, similar to the global variant of the LG G Pad 8.3. It has a 8.3-inch Full HD IPS WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels) display and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Let’s see how it performs in various synthetic benchmark tests. Since Google has optimized the processor to use the minimal use of CPU cores when the phone is idle, some benchmark might not show the correct scores.

Acer Iconia B1-720 and Iconia B1-721 with 7-inch display, 1.3GHz dual-core processor announced

Acer has announced Iconia B1-720 and B1-721, upgraded version of last year’s Iconia B1-A71 tablet. It ha a 7-inch capacitive touch screen 10-point multi-touch display based on One Glass Solution technology and is powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor (Probably MediaTek MT6572, similar to the Liquid Z5. It runs on Android Jelly Bean OS, but the version is not available yet. It also comes with a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera for video chats. The Iconia B1-721 has 3G support and the Iconia B1-720 comes with WiFi. Both these have 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal and an expansion slot.
