Oppo R1 Benchmarks

Oppo launched the Oppo R1 (R829), successor of last year’s Oppo R819 in India April in India priced at Rs. 26990. We brought you the unboxing of the device recently, here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor and Mali 400 GPU. It packs 1GB RAM, runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) based Color OS and has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display. It has premium build quality, but Oppo could have gone with a faster Snapdragon SoC to justify the high price tag. Check out the synthetic benchmark scores below. Idea !d 4000 with 3.5-inch display, dual-core processor launched for Rs. 4999

Idea Cellular has launched !d 4000, the company’s latest budget smartphone with 3G connectivity. It has a 3.5-inch HVGA display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 3.2-megapixel rear camera without flash. It has dual SIM support with dual standby, similar to other Idea phones and also comes with 3G connectivity. The looks like a minor upgrade compared to the Idea !d 1000 that was launched earlier this March, since only the camera and the battery have seen a change. Swipe rolls out Android 4.4 KitKat update for Konnect 5.0

Swipe Telecom launched Swipe Konnect 5.0,  the company’s first Android smartphone in the Konnect running Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) last week for Rs. 8999. Today the company has announced that it has started rolling out Android 4.4 (KitKat) update for the smartphone. In addition to better performance and UI changes, the smartphones also has customizable UI which can be personalized with multiple effects, themes and transitions. Karbonn has officially launched the Titanium S1 Plus, that company’s latest budget smartphone in the Titanium series. It went on sale online back in April and packs a 4-inch WVGA display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. Google Drive for Android updated with redesigned UI

Google released its stock email app on Play Store earlier today and now it has added some tweaks to the Drive app on Android. The cloud storage app from Google gets fresh look with a new animation which was earlier light blue. A new document creation shortcut has been added  in the floating bar at the bottom of the screen.

Xolo launched the Q1000 Opus, the company’s first smartphone powered by a quad-core Broadcom (BCM23550) processor back in December last year. Now the Xolo Q1000 Opus 2 is available from online retailer Snapdeal. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 (MSM8212) processor and has a 5-inch qHD display, compared to FWVGA screen on the Q1000 Opus. HTC Sense TV app updated with program guide for India

HTC Sense TV India program guide

HTC has updated its HTC Sense TV app that finally brings support for Indian TV program listings. This let you add a TV service provider from the settings to view the current or upcoming TV listing and detailed program guide easily. This feature is currently in beta so the program guide might not be perfect. This app uses the phone’s Infrared sensor to control TV, set-top box or a home theater system easily. Facebook officially launches Slingshot app for iPhone and Android

After accidentally launching Slingshot app on the Apple App store last week and taking it down, Facebook has officially released the app. Available on iOS and Android, the app will enables user to send disappearing photo and video messages. However, there is a catch as Slingshot requires users to share something before they can view any images from others.
