WeChat for Android brings message translation

WeChat has updated its Android app with a new feature that will translate messages. Users simply have to long-press on a message and tap the arrow icon on the right-hand side to activate the tool.

As soon as you long press, you get options like Copy, Forward, favourite, translate and more. Clicking on ‘Translate’ will convert the text into your native language. The app currently offers the translation feature for more than 20 languages including Chinese, French, Spanish and Bahasa Indonesia. The feature will be welcomed by users as it could be useful for many reasons.

In addition, the Android app also gets ‘Groups with Password’ feature that will add a protective layer of privacy to group chats. Selected group chat participants will need to enter a four-digit code before gaining access to any private group conversations. WeChat last updated its Android app in March with new UI and lots of features.

You can download the latest update to WeChat from the Google Play Store.
