Samsung launched the Galaxy Grand 2 in White in India, back in January this year. In February, Black and Pink variants of the smartphone went on sale in India. Now the Gold variant of the Grand 2 has appeared on the official Samsung India eStore.  It has a leather-like removable back cover similar to other color variants and has black bezel on the front.

In the wake of privacy concerns, Xiaomi makes cloud messaging optional

Xiaomi managed to get some bad press of late, when a report from Taiwan claimed that the Chinese maker was gathering sensitive user data through its phones. The report said that Xiaomi Redmi Note was found to be sending information to Chinese servers without any such requests from the user.

Nvidia Shield Tablet Unboxing

The Project Shield was Nvidia’s first portable gaming project, which turned out to be really interesting in terms of idea and concept, never took off as the company had imagined. The GPU manufacturer is back with a sequel, but with a different approach this time. The Shield 2, or rather, the Nvidia Shield Tablet, is the company’s latest unbundled approach to portable gaming. Acknowledging the reality of limited controller support in Android games and the need to cater to a wider audience, the company has gone for a powerful tablet + gamepad combo. The gamepad ships separately, but even standalone, the tablet is plenty powerful and can interface with your current controller setup if needed. Touting a 192 core desktop class Kepler GPU inside, the Shield tablet surely has the potential to change mobile gaming, but before we find out if that’s true, here’s an unboxing of the retail package, with a quick rundown of the hardware and the software –

LG L60 with 4.3-inch display, 1.3 GHz dual-core processor and Android 4.4 goes official

LG L60, the company’s latest smartphone in the LG Series III Lineup has been listed on its official website in Russia, where it’s called L60 X145. It has a 4.3-inch WVGA screen, runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat), has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera, similar to the LG L65 Dual that went on sale in Russia back in April. But this is powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor, comes with 512MB RAM and packs a 1,540 mAh battery.

10,000 units of Asus Zenfone 5 smartphones to be available on Flipkart from August 9th

Asus launched the Zenfone 5 smartphone in India last month along with the other smartphones in the Zenfone series. It went on sale on Flipkart and authorised Asus channels soon after the launch starting at just Rs. 9,999, but it went out of stock on Flipkart in just four days after the launch. Today, the company has announced that the Zenfone 5 would be back on stock on Flipkart with 10,000 units available for sale starting tomorrow, August 9th. Sony has started rolling out Android 4.4 (KitKat) update (v20.1.B.0.64) for their Xperia E1 and Xperia E1 Dual budget smartphones, as it promised last month when it rolled out KitKat update for T2 Ultra and T2 Ultra Dual. Gameloft has released its new Ice Age Adventures for Android, iOS and Windows Phone platforms. In this game need to explore new worlds, battle memorable bosses, solve puzzles and take on exciting challenges in an effort to rescue the entire herd. You can play as Sid, Manny and Diego, characters from the Ice Age movies. These characters are voiced by the official actors from the films. Xiaomi introduced the MiPad, its first tablet back in May at an event in China. The company showed off the tablet at the Mi3 launch event in India last month, when we brought you the photo gallery and hand-on impressions of the tablet. We brought you the unboxing of the MiPad recently, here we have the benchmarks of the tablet. The MiPad is powered by a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor with ARM Cortex A15 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and 192-core Kepler GPU.  It has a 7.9-inch (2048 × 1536 pixels) display and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat-based MIUI ROM.
