Google is back with its Google Play discounted sale. Earlier this year Google celebrated Google Play’s second birthday by offering some games, but it was not impressive compared to the first birthday sale.Today Google has started its new offer that lets you get films and e-books at discounted rates in new sale called “The Great Monsoon Sale”. Google also offers discounts on music in some countries, but since Google Play Music is not available in India, it is not available in the country. Google has updated Android Device Manager that helps users secure their device. The latest version 1.3.8 enables to add a phone number in the remote locking screen while also letting them change the lockscreen password and set up an optional message.

Google posts new images of Android L Preview and releases Google Fit SDK preview

Google has released updated images of the Android L developer preview. The new images weigh in as build LPV81C and are still only available to the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (2013) WiFi. This is an upgrade from the LPV79 build that was released in late June.

It was showcased at the Zenfone launch event in India last month and packs a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) display, powered by 1.2 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2520 processor with PowerVR SGX544 GPU and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) with ZenUI. It has a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. YouTube for Android updated with minor Playlist enhancements

YouTube is bringing some new tweaks to playlist management in the latest update. The version 5.9.0.10 now gets a contextual menu that provides quicker access to pre-existing features. An action overflow button will appear next to each result at the time of  searching for a playlist.

Google Search gets deep app linking, hands free mode, Play Music also updated

Google has updated Google Search with a bunch of new features. The version 3.6 adds the  ability for developers to deep link app information through Android’s linking API. However, these features require developers to implement them first within their apps. Additionally, the Search app hints at Google working on a hands-free mode. It would introduce a new interface for when you are driving to offer you a simple and less cluttered interface.

LG G3 A with 5.2-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 800 SoC and LTE-A launched in Korea

LG unveiled the LG G3, the company’s latest flagship smartphone with 5.5-inch Quad HD display back in May. It had Snapdragon 801 SoC clocked at 2.5 GHz and support for LTE-A up to 150Mbps. The company even launched the LG G3 Cat.6 in Korea with similar display, Snapdragon 805 and support for LTE-A up to 225Mbps. Today the company has launched LG G3 A, a new LG G3 variant with 5.2 inch IPS Full HD display and Snapdragon 800 processor, exclusively for Korean operator SKT. Asus Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 6 get new firmware updates in India, brings stability and enhancements

Asus launched the Zenfone series in India last month. These smartphones already got some minor updates soon after the launch for bug fixes, now the company has released a new over-the-air (OTA) update (V1.16.40.8_20140725_9834) for the Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 6 smartphones. Xolo Play 8X-1200 with 5-inch 1080p display, Android 4.4 listed on official website for Rs. 19999

Xolo launched the 8X-1000, the company’s latest smartphone with HIVE UI today for Rs. 13,999. Xolo Play 8X-1200, another top-end smartphone has been listed on the official website. It has a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display based on one-glass-solution technology, powered by a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592T processor with Mali 450 GPU and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat), but this doesn’t have HIVE UI like the 8X-1000.
