Xiaomi has sold 40,000 units of Redmi Note 4G smartphones in just 6 seconds in today’s (December 30th) sale in India. This is the first time Xiaomi is selling its Redmi Note 4G smartphone, and over 2 lakh people had registered for the sale. The Redmi Note 4G has support for TD-LTE 2300MHz (Band 40) and FDD-LTE 1800MHz (Band 3) for India and is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 SoC, instead of Octa-Core MediaTek chip in the 3G variant. Oppo unveiled the Oppo R5 with stainless steel body, micro-arc frame that is just 4.85mm thick at an event in Singapore back in September. Oppo today launched the Oppo R5 smartphone in India as expected. It has a 5.2-inch 1080p AMOLED screen, powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with Adreno 405 GPU and runs on Color OS 2.0 based on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Samsung Galaxy Grand Max and Galaxy A7 revealed in official brochure in Korea

After several leaks, the Samsung Galaxy A7 (SM-A700) has gone official on the official brochure by Samsung in Korea. Along with the Galaxy A7, Samsung also plans to launch the Galaxy Grand Max (SM-G720N0) smartphone in 2015. The Grand Max has similar design as the Grand 2 and the Galaxy A7 has full metallic body, similar to other A series smartphones. Both these smartphones will come with VoLTE and DMB support in Korea. This is an upgraded version of the iBall Andi4 IPS GEM that was launched earlier this year. It comes with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, compared to 256MB RAM and 2GB of storage in the Andi4 IPS GEM. HTC reportedly plans to introduce more budget 4G smartphones in Q1 2015

HTC plans to launch entry-level 4G smartphones in the first quarter of 2015, according to a report from DigiTimes. It expects to ship twice the amount of products next year compared to this year, the report adds. This was revealed by Jack Tong, president of HTC North Asia.
