YU has started rolling out Cyanogen OS 12 update  based on Android 5.0.2 (Lollipop) for the YU YUREKA smartphone. It was submitted for certification earlier this week and got approved soon. OnePlus One got this update a couple of days back. Cyanogen OS 12 brings highly customized extra theming options that can be applied per application level and paid themes. It also includes CyanogenMail, powered by Boxer with Exchange support, multiple account integration, canned responses for quick replies, select a different LED color for email notifications and more. Google has updated its Drive app for Android that now lets you share files easily from the notification shade. Once you upload a file to Drive you will receive a notification after if finishes. Now it also includes an option to share with other people for faster sharing, instead of opening the Drive app once again to share it. Xiaomi has introduced special Black Edition of Mi Note smartphone in China. Announced by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun with Chinese famous singer Jason Zhang, the leather box which is handmade has Jason Zhang’s new music album and a special photo album. Xiaomi recently introduced Cherry Pink Mi Note for Women for its 5th anniversary and Special Bamboo Edition of Mi Note last month.

Xiaomi Redmi 1S gets global MIUI 6 beta ROM

Xiaomi has released a global beta build of its MIUI 6 ROM for the Redmi 1S smartphone. The company introduced MIUI 6, a major upgrade to MIUI ROM last year, but only few Mi devices such as Mi 4, Mi 3, Redmi Note, Redmi 2 and MiPad run on the stable MIUI 6 ROM. Developer ROMs are available for Mi devices in China, but this is the first time the company is releasing beta version of its ROM for global markets.
