Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL), in partnership with Nokia, announced that it has successfully conducted 5G trial in rural area in Gandhinagar in Gujarat using 3.5GHz spectrum band allocated by the Government for 5G trials. As part of the ongoing 5G trials in India, Vodafone Idea said that it has partnered with Ericsson to trial 5G use cases in healthcare sector in remote parts of the country. Vi has been allocated 26 GHz mmWave band by the DoT, along with the traditional 3.5 GHz spectrum band in Pune, for 5G network trials. Reliance Jio launched its first smartphone – JioPhone Next last week after a slight delay due to chip shortage. The phone runs Android 11 Go Edition with Pragati OS on top. Airtel has rolled out 5G for Business initiative to demonstrate a wide range of enterprise grade use cases using high-speed and low latency networks. Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) has been conducting 5G trials on Govt. allocated 5G spectrum in the cities of Pune (Maharashtra) and Gandhinagar
(Gujarat). Vi said that in its trial, it achieved peak 5G speed of 3.7 Gbps with very low latency on the mmWave spectrum band. This is conducted in a lab setup of end to-end captive network of Cloud Core, new generation Transport and Radio Access Network in Pune. Airtel has launched new Mobile and Home Broadband plans that come bundled with free 1-year subscription to Disney+ Hotstar. These new Airtel mobile prepaid plans come with bundled data, unlimited calling, 100 SMS/day along with subscription to Disney+ Hotstar. This comes after the launch of similar Disney+ Hotstar bundled packs from Jio earlier this month, but Jio’s 56 days plan costs Rs. 666 and the 365 days plan costs Rs. 2599. It was conducted in Manesar (Guragon) as part of the ongoing 5G trails using spectrum allotted by the Department of Telecom (DoT).
