Reliance Jio begins eSIM activation on iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR

After Airtel started  eSIM activation for iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR in India a few days back, and quickly paused it, Reliance Jio has started eSIM activation for the eligible iPone users from today, after the support was enabled with iOS 12.1 update earlier this week. Apple already announced that Airtel and Reliance Jio will support eSIM in India, and more partneres will be added next year. Reliance Jio reports Rs. 681 crore profit in FY Q2 2018-19, crosses 250 million subscribers

Reliance Jio has reported Rs. 9240 crore revenue, up 13.9% QoQ and 50.3 YoY and a net profit of 681 crore, up 11.3% QoQ for its fifth quarterly financial performance for the period that ended 30th September, 2018.  Jio reported Standalone earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of 3,573 crore, up 13.5% QoQ, EBITDA margin of 38.7%, and Standalone earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) of 2,042 crore, up 19.6% QoQ . Consolidated value of services stood at 10,901 crore, up 13.9% over trailing quarter. It has 252.3 million subscribers as of September 30th, achieving it in 25 months of commencemnt of services.

Reliance Jio to connect 2385 Govt schools and colleges in Uttarakhand

Reliance Jio has announced that in the next two years it will connect most of the 2,385-plus government schools and colleges with high-speed Internet in Uttarakhand to make the State a ‘Digital Devbhoomi.’ Ambani also said that Jio will promote environment protecting industries and businesses. WhatsApp finally arrives for KaiOS-powered JioPhone

WhatsApp is finally available for the JioPhone that is powered by KaiOS. At the annual AGM back in July, Reliance Jio chairman said that YouTube, WhatsApp and an improved Facebook app will be available for JioPhone from 15th August. After a month’s delay, WhatsApp is now available. The app has been built specially for Jio KaiOS, a web based operating system designed for JioPhone, so that its users get the best experience.

Last week Reliance Communications (RCOM) announced the completion of the sale of its Media Convergence Nodes (MCNs) and related infrastructure assets, worth Rs 2,000 crore, to Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIO). Today the company announced the completion of the sale of its fiber and related infrastructure assets, worth Rs 3,000 crore, to Reliance Jio.

JioPhone 2 with QWERTY keyboard goes on sale from August 16

Reliance Jio introduced the  JioPhone 2, the successor of  last year’s JioPhone last month. The company said that it will be available starting from August 15th. Today the company has confirmed that the smartphone will go on sale for the first time via flash sale on August 16th, 12PM on Jio.com.

Jio Payments Bank is a 70:30 JV between RIL and SBI,  today Jio and SBI have signed MoU to deepen digital partnership, in aim to increase SBI’s digital customer base multi-fold. SBI YONO is a omni channel platform offering digital banking, commerce and financial superstore services to customers. YONO’s digital banking features and solutions will be enabled through the MyJio platform for a seamless, integrated and superior customer experience. MyJio will now bring in financial services capabilities of SBI and Jio Payments Bank.
