Yu has launched YuFit, the company’s first fitness band. Yu’s CEO and Founder Rahul Sharma says that it’s not just a health or fitness band, but it’s a lifestyle companion. There is a small OLED display on the band that shows the time, the number of steps and more details. It is powered by healthifyme, Bangalore-based company that it invested in recently. Micromax’s YU just launched YUPHORIA, the company’s second YU branded smartphone as expected. It has a 5.0-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display with a screen-to-body ratio of 67.1%, is powered by a Quad-Core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and runs on Cyanogen OS 12 based on Android 5.0 (Lollipop). It features a 8-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has a metal frame that will give the smartphone a premium feel, says the company. According to research done by CMR, the Tablet PC market in India has shown a double digit decline of 13.9% QoQ (Quarter on Quarter) for the first time. BWA (Broadband Wireless Access) enabled tablets accounted for 60% of the tablet shipments during the same timeframe.

Micromax Canvas Nitro 2 E311, the latest smartphone in the Canvas series is now available from Infibeam. It has a 1.4 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek processor instead of 1.7 GHz Octa-Core SoC and has a 2400mAh battery, other specifications are similar to the Micromax Canvas Nitro A311, including a 5-inch HD display, 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage with expansion slot, Android 4.4 (KitKat), 13-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
Lenovo launched the A7000 smartphone in India in April for Rs. 8,999. We brought you the review of the smartphone recently, here we have the battery life test results. It packs a 2,900mAh removable Lithium Ion battery, larger than the 2300mAh battery on the A6000. The smartphone has a 5.5-inch HD screen, is powered by a 1.5GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6752M 64-bit processor and runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop).

Asus launched the ZenPower, a 10050mAh portable power bank in India last month during the Zenfone 2 launch. Today the Taiwanese company has announced that the power bank will go on sale in the country from May 15th. The Asus ZenPower has 11 layers of protection and adds extra layer of tactile toughness which is soft to touch, scratch and impact resistant, says the company. BlackBerry has launched the BlackBerry Leap, the company’s latest 4G smartphone in India. It was announced at the MWC 2015 earlier this year and was announced in India last week. It packs a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) 16:9 display, is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and runs on the latest BlackBerry OS 10.3.1 OS with BlackBerry Assistant feature and Amazon app store to download Android apps easily. Asus launched the Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) smartphone with 4GB of RAM in India last month starting at Rs. 19,999. The Zenfone 2 variant with 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage and Z23560 SoC was launched for Rs. 14,999. Today the company has launched a new variant of the smartphone smartphone with the same SoC, but the RAM and internal storage have been upped to 4GB and 32GB, respectively. The company says that it has launched the variant specially for India and the stocks are limited. Xiaomi made it’s first major product announcement in India on April 23rd for the Mi 4i which has been developed for over 18 months mainly for India and other nearby markets. The launch saw Hugo Barra, VP Xiaomi Global , unveil the Mi 4i in a market where the company has been operational for barely 9 months.While the company tends to call it a flagship, the Mi 4i is more like a feature rich mid-range smartphone priced extremely well.
