Sony Mobile has launched the Xperia M2 Dual, the successor of last year Xperia M. It was announced at the MWC 2014 and packs a 4.8-inch (960 x 540 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). It has a a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It also comes with dual SIM support and has NFC. HTC has launched the Desire 816, the company’s latest phablet in India. It was announced at the MWC 2014 earlier this year. has a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) display, powered by a 1.6 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with HTC Sense 6.0 on top. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has dual-front-facing BoomSound speakers and comes with dual SIM support. HTC has launched the Desire 210 dual SIM, the company’s latest budget smartphone in India. It has a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera without flash and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It also has HTC BlinkFeed. The company launched the Desire 310 dual sim in India last month. HTC has launched the HTC One (M8) successor of last year’s HTC One (M7) in India. It was announced back in February and has a 5.0-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display with Corning Gorilla glass protection, powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with the new HTC Sense 6.0 UI. It has Duo camera setup with a primary UltraPixel camera (1/3″ BSI sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 28mm lens, pixel size of 2.0 microns) and a secondary rear camera to capture depth information. Micromax started teasing their Canvas Doodle 3 smartphone last week. It just hinted at a larger-screen phone. Gadgets To Use has got hold of the images of the retail box that details the specifications of the smartphone. According to the leak the is expected to come with a 6-inch FWVA display, powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor and run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 (P5200) has been listed on official Samsung India eStore at Rs. 36,340. It was announced back in June last year and packs a 10.1-inch (1280×800 pixels) display, powered by a 1.6 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a SIM slot and supports 3G connectivity. Samsung launched the 7-inch and 8-inch variants last year and introduced buyback offers for these tablets recently.

The Indian market is one of the fastest growing smartphone markets in the world, purely driven by the barrage of entry level Android smartphones. The market is so big that even Nokia wanted a slice of it, so it is not surprising to see the unending release schedules the companies resort to. One of them is the Indian manufacturer Spice, known for its low and mid range Android smartphones. In that line, we have here the Spice Stellar Mettle Icon for unboxing. This phone, priced at a low Rs. 6,999 in the market is one of the very few phablet sized devices in that price range. From the front, it unmistakeably looks like the HTC One, sans the loudspeakers. Lava has launched the Iris 504Q+, the successor of last year’s Iris 504Q. It has a similar 5-inch HD display based on OGS technology and runs on Android 4.2, but this is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and has a 10-megapixel rear camera with Sony Exmor RS sensor and LED flash. It also has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It has gesture motion and voice controls to capture images using the voice command and the gesture feature lets users change tracks, switch between homescreens, tune FM channels and browse gallery.
Airtel has launched Night Store, new night packs that would let pre-paid users enjoy unlimited on-net (Airtel to Airtel) voice calls and 2G data. It also offers limited 3G data with select packs in 3G circles and free Facebook access. These packs are applicable between 12AM to 6AM and is valid for one night.
