ZTE today announced Grand X3 and Avid Plus, two new smartphones for the U.S. carriers at the CES 2016. The Grand X3 is a budget smartphone with 4G LTE support, USB Type-C and a huge 3,080mAh battery, while the Avid Plus is an entry-level smartphone. Both these run Android 5.1.1 (Lollpop). ZTE has introduced AXON MAX, the company’s latest smartphone in the AXON series in China. It packs a 6-inch 1080p AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass, is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 64-bit processor and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with MiFavor 3.5 UI. It has a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF) for quick focus in just 0.1 seconds and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. It also has a fingerprint sensor on the back and comes with USB Type-C reversible port.
ZTE has released Blade A1, its new budget smartphone, which becomes the most affordable smartphone with a fingerprint sensor, beating the UMi Fair that was released in September. It has a 5-inch HD display, is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor, runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop), has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It has been a while since ZTE got the limelight for a smartphone but looks like they are planning big things for the near future. Renders of a smartphone belonging to their Nubia sub-brand have surfaced and the phone looks good, both in terms of design as well as specifications.

The Blade X3, Blade X5 and the Blade Z7 have a 5-inch HD displays, while the Blade X9 comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p display. The Blade X5 and X9 smartphones have fingerprint sensor on the back. ZTE introduced Axon Pro, the company’s flagship smartphone with a 5.5-inch Quad HD screen, Snapdragon 810 and 4GB of RAM for the U.S. market back in July. Now it has launched a cheaper Axon smartphone with a 5.5-inch 1080p screen, Snapdragon 801 SoC and 2GB of RAM. Most of the specifications of the Axon are different from the Chinese variant . The Z9 is the latest flagship product in the Nubia sub-brand series of phones from ZTE. It is a powerhouse of a phone that is packed into a compact body with an attractive design. We went hands on with the device at IFA 2015 and here are our impressions.
For those of you who don’t know Nubia, it is a sub-brand of ZTE that comes up with interesting devices. The Nubia devices have one common trademark which is their home button that has red backlighting in all colour variants that they are available in. That is the easiest way to spot a Nubia device in the wild. We went hands on with the Nubia My Prague at IFA 2015 which is as interesting as its name sounds.
During IFA 2015 in Berlin, we were able to get our hands on the much praised ZTE Axon Elite. We took a closer look at the handset that is mainly focused at improved imaging and audio quality.
ZTE introduced Axon Pro smartphone with 5.5-inch Quad HD screen in the U.S back in July and it introduced the Axon smartphone with a 5.5-inch 1080p screen in China later. At the IFA, the company has introduced the Axon smartphone as Axon Elite for global markets. It has Eyeprint ID, a password-free eye-based biometric unlocking solution that captures unique vein patterns in the human eye using the smartphone’s front facing camera, fingerprint sensor and voice control. These smartphones have a 5.5-inch 1080p display, are powered by a an Octa-Core Snapdragon 615 SoC and run on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with nubia UI 3.0. These have 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 88-degree wide-angle lens with NeoVision 5.0 Camera UI. ZTE introduced Axon Pro smartphone in the U.S with 5.5-inch Quad HD screen, Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 64-bit SoC and 4GB of RAM. It introduced Axon Lux smartphone with similar specifications in China, but this has a 128GB of internal storage with expansion slot, a fingerprint sensor and a leather-like finish on the back.
