Music buffs across the world have two hot new models to grab, as Sony Ericsson and LG announced their latest models.

We bring you the inside information on both models as the expected Indian launch for both handsets is slated to be early 2008.

Sony Ericsson W890 Walkman Phone

Sony Ericsson launched its walkman model W880 a few months ago. It has now launched W890, its successor, with additional features. This handset is designed for entertainment and boasts features such as music, video, 3D games and high-speed web access.

Sony Ericsson revamps Web presence.

Sony Ericsson is revamping its web presence. The company has a new Press Center webpage, which you can see here. Browsing press material is pretty easy now with this new interface.
Sony Ericsson’s UK homepage has also been through some major design changes, which you can see here.
Sony Ericsson has realized that apart from good imaging (K Series) & music experience (W Series), web presence also matters.

Sony Ericsson W960i Live Pictures

Dailymobile.se just posted some live pictures of the Sony Ericsson W960i which might come any time to India. The phone is a Nokia N95 and Apple Iphone competitor with touchscreen , wifi and the likes.

The phone has 8GB of memory and a TV quality screen and a 3.2 Megapixel Camera

Sony Ericsson P1i with BlackBerry Connect v4.0 in India soon

Sony Ericsson P1i, a 3G Touch screen phone will now come pre-loaded with the BlackBerry Connect software v4.0. This announcement was made on 22 November 2007.

The handset will be available in select countries in the Asia Pacific region, including Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.

Sony Ericsson K770 Cybershot

The K770 is the latest addition to the Sony Ericsson cybershot series of phones. It was announced in London today.

Its just 14.5 mm thick and features a 3.2 Megapixel Camera and Memory Stick Micro (M2) expansion. Its a triband GSM / GPRS / 3G phone. No EDGE though. There stereo Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, FM Radio and Music / Video Playback

Sony Ericsson announces 8 new phones for India

Some great news for Sony Ericsson fans in India. Thanks to a market demands in India – product launch divides between rest of the world and India is getting shorter. Until a year back, new mobile handsets would atleast 2-3 months or even more to surface in India.

Hello Moto becomes Hello Samsung as Motorola looses global market share

Samsung has raced past Motorola for the the 2nd spot in the global market share for mobile phones by shipping about  37 Million mobile phones this quarter.The growing list of handsets the Korean company has in its offering might be the reason.

Things are not so good for Motorola and have not managed something as spectacular since the RAZR about a couple of years back. Motorola’s top management might under go a change .It managed only about 35 Million shipments in the quarter  and is seeing huge losses.

Sony Ericsson is till behind with about 25 million shipments.

Samsung’s success can been attributed  to hits Ultra Line of handsets and also a lot of Entry level handsets for the emerging markets.(Both Moto and SE are trying to find an answer for this one )

Nokia is the market leader and is expected to announce its results for the quarter in a months time.

Sony Ericsson to set R&D unit for mobile phones in Chennai

After Nokia its Sony Ericsson which is going to be making handsets in this city of Chennai. The Indian mobile market is currently on a upward trend and there are so many handset brands available.

The Chennai research and development unit will be headed by Anders Grynge, who was previously based at the Sony Ericsson R&D centre in Sweden. The new facility will become part of Sony Ericsson’s global network of R&D units which currently comprises sites in China, Japan, Sweden, the Netherlands, the US and the UK.

The move follows closely on the company’s January announcement of sourcing local manufacture of phones in Chennai with EMS partners Flextronics and Foxconn; with a production target of 10 million units by 2009. Today’s announcement is part of Sony Ericsson’s global strategy to strengthen its capabilities within the world’s fastest growing telecommunications market and generate the growth required to reach a top three position in the global handset market.

Sony Ericsson K810 Cyber-shot Cameraphone launched

The K810 is an upgraded version of the K790,K800 . Its  a true cyber-shot phone with a 3.2 Megapixel image stabilized Camera, Auto-focus,Xenon Flash. It also sports a secondary video-call camera in the front.Network is Tri-band with 3G.

Interestingly there’s no EDGE but there’s Bluetooth and USB .

No pricing information is out yet. But the phone must be available for purchase in by Q2 this year.

Memory Expansion is the form of Memory Stick Micro – it comes with a 128MB card in addition to the 64MB onboard.
