Sony releases PS4 Remote Play app for Remote Play capabilities on Xperia Z3 series

Sony introduced the Xperia Z3 series that includes, Sony Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and the Z3 Tablet Compact devices at the IFA 2014 last month. At that time the company announced PS4 Remote Play capabilities for these devices that lets you use the phone as a remote screen to connect to and control your games on PS4. Today it has officially released the PS4 Remote Play app on Google Play.

This lets you stream content from PS4 to your Sony Xperia Z3 and Z3 compact smartphones and the Z3 Tablet Compact. You can connect your Xperia smartphone or tablet to your home Wi-Fi network and use your DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller to continue your PS4 games on your Xperia device when you are are away from your TV screen.

Sony has promised to bring the PS4 Remote Play features to the Xperia Z2 series including the Xperia Z2 and the Z2 Tablet in the coming weeks. The PS4 Remote Play would be available for PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV in Europe starting November 14th.  Only the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2 series will support Remote Play, says Sony.
