Samsung and US CPSC recall 1 million Galaxy Note7 phones after 92 reports of overheating

After announcing a global recall of the Galaxy Note7 phones earlier this month over battery exploding issues, last week Samsung announced that it is working with United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) for a formal and complete recall of the phone in the U.S. Today both Samsung and CPSC have announced official recall of 1 million units of Samsung Galaxy Note7 phones sold from August 2016 through September 15, 2016. There was always a confusion among the general public about which Galaxy Note or Galaxy S device was the latest since the Note series was always a number behind on the latest version. This time around, Samsung decided to skip the number 6 and went with Note7 branding in order to bring it in line with the Galaxy S series lineup as well the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus which are now available.

Samsung has announced Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) with S Pen, a new tablet in the Galaxy A series in Korea. It introduced Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016). This has almost similar specifications as the Tab A (2016), but this packs comes with S Pen Stylus and features, including translation, quick notes and more that are available in the Galaxy Note7. Samsung might not remotely deactivate Galaxy Note7 units after all

Earlier, we had received reports that the Samsung will be remotely deactivating units of the Galaxy Note7 that haven’t been returned by 30th September in certain regions at least. However, that doesn’t seem like its true.

HP to acquire Samsung’s printer business for $1.05 billion

Galaxy S7 Edge explodes – Samsung gets sued

Samsung have stepped forward and admitted that the Galaxy Note7 has an issue with its battery that causes it to explode. They have also issued a recall for the same. However, there has been no warning for users of the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and as a result, Samsung is now facing a lawsuit.

Samsung Galaxy S8 might not have a flat screen variant

Samsung first introduced the edge feature with the Galaxy Note Edge and a double edged feature with the S6 edge. Since then, they have announced an Edge variant alongside a flat screen variant up until the Note7. Now, it seems that the Galaxy S8 might not come with a flat screen variant either.

FAA asks passengers not to use the Samsung Galaxy Note7 when flying

A few days ago, it was rumoured that the FAA  (Federal Aviation Administration) may ban passengers from carrying the Samsung Galaxy Note7 on board flights. However, while a ban didn’t happen, they have released a few guidelines for the passengers carrying the Note7 on board a flight.
