Microsoft had announced that Lumia 550 smartphone along with the flagship Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL in October. Today, the company has launched the Lumia 550 in some of the European markets.

Microsoft has launched the Lumia 950 Dual SIM and Lumia 950 XL Dual SIM smartphones in India, as it promised last week. Both these smartphones were announced at an event in New York City last month and pack QHD AMOLED ClearBlack displays, run Windows 10, come with USB Type-C port, 20-megapixel autofocus rear camera with ZEISS optics, with 5th Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), triple LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Microsoft is launching the dual SIM variants of these smartphones in India.

Microsoft Cortana for iOS now rolling out for beta testers

Microsoft started sign-ups for public beta of Cortana for iOS earlier this month, now the company has started rolling out the app via Apple’s TestFlight for the users, which is limited to 2,000 testers per application. The original survey indicated that Cortana for iOS would be available in the U.S. and China, so beta testing is currently limited. Earlier this month at the Future Unleashed 2015 event in Mumbai, Microsoft announced that it will launch the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL smartphones in India in December 2015. Now it has scheduled an event on November 30th to introduce these new smartphones. It has also scheduled exclusive event for Windows 10 Insiders in Mumbai and New Delhi on the same day that would let them experience the new Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL with Windows 10 first-hand. Skype for Android has received a major update that brings several new features that includes, ability to delete conversations, save video messages, share images directly to a group conversation and enhanced search. Microsoft delays Project Astoria, emulation tool to port Android apps to Windows

Microsoft announced its plans to launch tools for developers to quickly port Android and iOS apps to Windows 10 earlier this April. The tool for porting Android apps is called Project Astoria and the iOS porting tool is called Project Islandwood. The company did not launch Astoria publicly even months after the announcement. Now there are reports from Re/code and Windows Central saying that Project Astoria is on hold indefinitely, and maybe even shelved completely, but Microsoft doesn’t want to talk about it now, saying that Astoria bridge is not ready yet.
