Google is expected to announce its first foray into a Nexus branded tablet device. Ahead of the Google I/O event, Modaco has managed to get its hands on the complete spec sheet and product images from the Play Store servers. The tablet will presumably be the first device to run the next generation Android Jelly Bean OS.

Quick on the heels of the announcement regarding offline support for Google Maps on Android , the company has revealed that Maps and Google Earth on Android and iOS will be getting enhanced 3D support. A new process is being used to achieve greater 3D depth.

At a press event in San Francisco , Google has just announced its intention to bring offline maps to the Android to its mobile map solutions. This offline caching feature will be an extension of the 10mile cache which is already possible. This announcement comes hot on the heels of rumors that Apple might be ditching Google and going with their own in-house maps application.

Quick Office , the popular productivity app has today been acquired by Google. Quick Office is well known for providing a powerful and feature rich office suite across Android , iOS and Symbian. Google plans to bring the seamless interoperability with popular file formats from Quick Office to its own GDocs solution.
Google has sent over invites for a special event on 6th June where it will talk about Google Maps. Google is expected to showcase new and upcoming features for their much used mapping solution. In addition we expect a greater focus on 3D mapping.
Google Translate for Android has been updated to version 2.4 that brings new simplified Holo UI that offers drop down menus and the an action bar. The app lets you translate text between more than 64 languages with new Esperanto translation and speech to text in 17 languages. Google+ for Android has been updated to version 2.6 that brings new UI and improved navigation. Google+ for iPhone got these features earlier this month. The Android app now has ability to start a hangout on the go, and to edit posts inline and more new features. Google has today published an updated search application for the iPhone which provides a simpler way to access all Google apps from one place. The update boasts of faster autocompletion of search terms. Pages load faster and it is easer to access multiple pages due to a slide-in panel.

After winning regulatory approval in China , Google has finally completed it’s acquisition of Motorola Mobility for a record $12.5 billion. Google CEO Larry Page wrote a blog post today titled “We’ve acquired Motorola Mobility” and that the deal has finally closed after 9 months since the initial announcement. Google now has access to over 17000 patents owned by Motorola Mobility and will come in handy in it’s patent wars against Microsoft and Apple.
Google Maps for Android has been updated to version 6.7 that brings Indoor walking direction n the U.S. and Japan. It also lets you find offers from nearby businesses in the U.S. You can also view 360 degree panoramas inside restaurants and stores. Google has started selling the Galaxy Nexus on Google Play from this week just for $399.99, six week after its debut. This new device comes with Google wallet and a $10 credit by default. Another interesting factor is that the system image on this Galaxy Nexus is not the usual “Yakju” build, instead it’s the “Takju” image which has been used.

Sprint has announced that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus would be available stating April 22. It is also the first Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, smartphone with 4G LTE capability on Sprint. It boasts 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a 4.65-inch (1280 x 720 resolution pixels) HD Super AMOLED display, 5-megapixel camera with auto focus and 1080p video capture, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera that lets the user video chat with a group of up to 10 friends.
