Update — April 8, 2019: Google Play Developer Console device catalog has revealed that the Pixel 3a (Sargo) will come with a 2220×1080 pixels FHD+ 440 PPI display and Pixel 3a XL (Bonito) will come with a 2160 x 1080 pixels FHD+ 400 PPI display, which reveals display size of 5.6-inches and 6-inches, respectively as rumored earlier. It is the time of the year where we start seeing leaks and rumors about the next Pixel smartphone from Google. In the same lines, today, Google’s own website accidentally confirms the existence of Pixel 3a smartphone. Pixel 3a is said to be a smaller and lighter version of Pixel 3.

Google releases Smart Reply API for third-party Android and iOS apps

Google released  Reply app last year to send automated response in messages and other apps, but it was later discontinued. Today, the company has updated its ML Kit SDK to add APIs for Smart Reply and Language Identification to third-party Android and iOS apps.

Google Pixel 3 gets Dual SIM, Dual Standby support with Android Q Beta 2

Google started supporting eSIM feature on the Pixel 2 devices and the same was carried onto Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones. It was only Dual SIM, Single Standby (DSSS), but today, with the roll out of Android Q Beta 2, Google brings support for Dual SIM Dual Standby(DSDS) for Pixel 3 devices.

Google no longer selling Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones

Google launched the original Pixel in October 2016 and it discontinued the sales exactly 1 and half years later in April 2018. In the same lines, Pixel 2 series were launched in October 2017, and Google is now officially stopping the sales of Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.

Google rolls out April 2019 Android security update, Improves Google Assistant Voice-Unlocking, fixes screen flash issues on Pixel 3 series

Google has started rolling out new over-the-air (OTA) update for Pixel devices and also posted factory images as part of monthly Android Security release. The update for this month also includes several functional improvements for Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL that includes improvements to Voice-Unlocking performance for Google Assistant and fixes screen flash issues on some devices. It also brings Bluetooth connectivity improvements for original Pixel series. Google Stadia gaming platform lets you play games instantly on laptops, PCs, Android devices and TVs in 4K at 60 fps with HDR

At the GDC 2019 yesterday Google announced Stadia, the company’s new video game platform, as it had promised. This lets you instantly play games on TV (via Chromecast Ultra), laptop, desktop, tablet or a mobile phone at up to 4K and 60 frames per second with HDR and surround sound. Since this is completely online, gameplay experience may vary based on quality of internet connection.

Google Pay now lets you book train tickets at no additional cost

Google Pay already offers cab and bus ticket bookings with abhiBus, Goibibo, RedBus, Uber and Yatra. Today it has introduced train ticket booking for Indian Railways, powered by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) at no additional cost at the launch. You can just click Trains option inside the Google Pay app to access this feature.
