Google introduces Jurassic World dinosaurs AR experience in Search for mobile


Sitting at home during the pandemic lockdown can get sometimes get boring. So why not learn about dinosaurs from Jurassic World? Google has rolled out a fun new AR experience in Search for mobile where users can view and learn about 10 different dinosaurs from the Jurassic World.

To experience it, you can simply search for a dinosaur in Google Search on your mobile. In the results, there will be an option to “View in 3D”. Clicking it will bring up a 3D model of the dinosaur, which can be rotated and zoomed in to see the details up close.

The fun bit is when you click “View in your space” and bring the dinosaur into your surrounding through AR. Google will prompt you to point to the floor and once it detects a flat enough surface, it will place a moving dinosaur. If you own an android device, you can even hear the sounds of the dinosaur along with its footsteps as it moves its in place.

A cool feature is the ability to resize the dinosaur to its real life size by clicking on “View actual size”. Google will use AR tracking technology to automatically reposition the the dinosaur and show just how tiny or big some dinosaurs are in relation to us humans.

The 10 dinosaurs that are supported in AR view are: Tyrannosaurus Rex, Velociraptor, Triceratops, Spinosaurus, Stegosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Dilophosaurus, Pteranodon, and Parasaurolophus.
