ASUS announced the camera-centric ZenFone Zoom with a 13-megapixel camera with 3X optical zoom, Laser auto focus, optical image stabilization (OIS) and dual-LED Real Tone flash at the CES last year. Today at the CES 2016 the company has announced that the smartphone will launch in the US next month. It packs a 5.5-inch 1080p display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, is powered by a Quad Core Z3580 / Z3590 processor, 4GB LPDDR3 RAM, runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) with Zen UI and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Asus announced Zenfone Max with a 5000mAh battery at the ZenFestival in India back in August last year, finally it has launched the smartphone in the country. It has a 5.5-inch HD screen, is powered by a Snapdragon 410 SoC and runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with real-tone LED flash, Laser auto focus and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has dual SIM support with 4G connectivity on both.

Asus Pegasus X005 with 5.5-inch 1080p display, 2GB RAM gets certified in China

Asus introduced the Pegasus X002 smartphone back in December last year, later it introduced Pegasus X003 and also unveiled the Pegasus 2 Plus X550 smartphone back in July. Now the Pegasus X005 has been certified by TENAA in China. It has a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display, similar to the Pegasus 2 Plus, but this is powered by a 1.3GHz Octa-Core processor (MediaTek MT6753 likely). Asus launched the Zenfone Go, a budget smartphone in India back in September. Today the company has launched a smaller variant called Zenfone Go 4.5 with a 4.5-inch FWVGA screen and 1GB of RAM. It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6580 SoC, has 3G support and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop), similar to the original Zenfone Go, but this has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera. At the Google for India event today in Delhi, Caesar Sengupta, Product Management Director, Google said that Asus will launch its Chromebit compact stick running Chrome OS in India in January 2016. The Chromebit plugs directly into the HDMI port on a TV or monitor to turn it into a desktop PC offering 1080p output. It is compact and has a fan-less design. The ZenPad 7.0 went on sale in the country for Rs. 11,999 back in October, and the ZenPad 8.0 went on sale last month for Rs. 14,999 . Now the ZenPad C 7.0 variants are available from Flipkart and Snapdeal. These have a 7-inch display with 71% screen-to-body ratio, AGC Glass with 20nm Anti-Finger Coating, 10 finger multi-touch, upto 170 degree viewing angle, powered by a quad-core 64-bit Intel Atom x3-C3230 / MediaTek MT8382 processor and run on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) with Zen UI. Asus Zenfone Selfie gets the deluxe treatment – 3GB RAM and 128GB storage

Asus launched the Zenfone 2 Deluxe which was basically a limited edition Zenfone 2 with a different back design. Asus also launched a limited edition of the Zenfone 2 Deluxe with 256GB capacity in Brazil. It plugs directly into the HDMI port on a TV or monitor to turn it into a desktop PC offering 1080p output. It has a fan-less design, but if it gets too hot (over 35-degrees), Chromebit will shut down automatically to prevent overheating, according to Asus.
