Apple reportedly begins development of in-house 5G modem for future iPhones, iPads

Back in October, Apple made a huge splash in the smartphone space with 5G support on their latest iPhone 12 series. The 5G modem for these iPhones were supplied by Qualcomm, but that may not be the case in future iPhones and iPads and sources inside Apple have revealed that they are developing their own 5G modem chips.

Apple developing up to 32-core Apple Silicon SoCs for high-end Macs: Report

Apple’s foray into the desktop ARM computing world was, for the most part, a success with the launch of the M1 Apple Silicon in the entry level Macs. Apple launches global iPhone 11 display module replacement program due to touch issues in some units

Apple has found that a small percentage of iPhone 11 units that were manufactured between November 2019 and May 2020 have a manufacturing defect in the display module that may cause the display to stop responding to touch. Apple shifts some production to Vietnam over China trade concerns

Apple is very concerned about the US-China trade wars as tensions between the two countries have increased significantly. Apple iPads with Mini LED displays and 3rd gen AirPods reportedly coming in first half of 2021

Popular Apple analyst, Ming Chi-Kuo has revealed in a new research note to investors that Apple will likely launch a new iPad with a mini-LED display and new AirPods 3 sometime during the first half of 2021. Apple is expected to contract Chinese manufacturer Jialianyi for its LCP (liquid crystal polymer) soft boards technology, bringing the company as part of its supply chain for various Apple products.
