Nimbuzz teams up with LG to pre-install app on devices, offers free ISD calls

Nimbuzz entered into a partnership with LG Mobiles to provide 100 minutes of free international calls to any number in the US. In addition to this, the Nimbuzz app will be pre-installed on LG devices. Facebook buys fitness tracking app Moves

Facebook has scooped up fitness tracking app Moves for an undisclosed sum. The app which is available on Android and iPhone will continue to run separately even after the acquisition. Developed by ProtoGeo Oy, the 2-year-old Helsinki company’s Moves app runs in the background on users’ phones and uses location data to build up a profile of their activities throughout the day.

IFTTT app now available for Android

IFTTT or “if this then that” has launched their Android app finally. The iPhone app was launched back in July last year and the iPad app arrived earlier this month. The app is also available for Android tablets. You need to find a Channel that has Recipes. Wikipedia for Windows Phone 8.1 updated with Cortana support

Windows Phone 8.1 has been out as a developer preview for just a little more than a week, but we are already seeing developers updating their apps to support the OS’ new features. Among the many apps being updated is Wikipedia, developed by Rudy Huyn. This app is the closest to an official app from one of the world’s largest resources for information, as it is made by a popular third party developer with Wikipedia themselves approving and endorsing it for the platform. The app now has been updated to include support for Cortana, the new personal voice assistant and one of the major new features of the OS. Once updated, the v2.3 will let you directly search for topics using your voice by giving simple commands to Cortana.
