Google adds Android L support and new features to Docs and Sheet

Google has been updating Drive with various features since last week. First it allowed the ability to edit Microsoft Office files and offline supports for Docs, Sheets and Slides. Also, the Drive app for Android got an update with revamped UI and more. Today, Google has made Docs and Sheet app compatible with recently announced Android L. The move comes from Google just two days after discontinuing QuickOffice from Play Store.

With an aim to expand its music offering, Google has acquired music streaming service Songza. The official news comes weeks after there were reports that Google is going to buy Songza. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Disney launches LINE: Disney Tsum Tsum puzzle game for Android, iPhone and iPad

Disney has tied up with Japan’s LINE Corporation to launch the popular Disney Tsum Tsum puzzle game globally. This was published by LINE in Japan last year and holds the number 1 free app spot on both iOS and Android in Japan. Disney has also launched  stackable Tsum Tsum toys in select stores in North America and at Disney Parks. Last year Gameloft teamed up with LINE to launch LINE Let’s Golf game. Google updated Drive app for Android to version 1.32 earlier this month with new UI and new animations. At the Google I/O earlier this week it announced updates for Google Drive for Android and iOS with support for editing Microsoft Office files. Android L Keyboard ported to other Android devices

Android L, the next iteration of Android would bring several new features and new material design, a new visual language. Google released developer preview of Android L for Nexus 5 and the Nexus 7 (2013) yesterday. XDA members immediately ported the keyboard to other devices and released Flashable Zip for rooted users and APK for all other non rooted ones. Today some folks from the XDA released the Android L Keyboard on Google Play. Amazon today announced that it would offer paid Android apps worth over $100 for free on the Amazon AppStore for two days, Friday 27th and Saturday 28th June. This includes some popular apps and games under different categories such as Fun, Travel and Remote Office apps. There are 31 app in the list, and these are usually priced between US$0.99 and US$ 9.99. All you need to do is just get the Amazon App Store from here and sideload it on your Android device. It also has red eye removal, automatic fixes for Brightness, Exposure and Shadows and has a range of filters. It was launched for Android and iOS few years back. Google announced several updates and enhancements to Drive at the I/O developer conference. For starters, users can edit Microsoft Office files through the cloud-based platform. Facebook Slingshot now available globally

Facebook officially launched its self destructing messaging app Slingshot last week. The app which enables users to send and receive photos and 15 second videos that disappear after they are viewed was only available in the US. Today, the app has gone global is available for download worldwide for Android(Jelly Bean and KitKat) and iPhone (iOS 7).
