Download Opera Mobile 10 beta for Nokia and Symbian Smartphones

Image5

Opera Mini 5 Beta is one of the best mobile browsers out in the market and we totally love using it over a slow GPRS connection.  But the app is slow on even high-end phones because its based on Java. Now get ready for some serious mobile browsing on your Nokia or any other Symbian smartphone –  You can now Download Opera Mobile 10 beta which is a native S60 application.  We tested the app on a Nokia 5800 (touchscreen phone) and a E52 ( non touch) and the app certainly kicks ass and is a zillion times faster than the mini 5 beta. It features the same speed dial found in the desktop browser, support for multiple tabs, contextual menus and a lot more. How to copy paste from webpages in E71/E61i using Opera Mini 5

Yesterday we had told you about the copy paste feature of the new Opera Mini 5. However many of the people were facing difficulties doing the same, in mobile devices which had a QWERTY keypad eg E71, E61i etc. The difficulty arose because Opera Mini is a Java Application and hence the normal CTRL+C and CTRL+V does not work in Opera Mini 5.

Gerry Moth from Nokia Addict has now found out the correct way to copy paste from webpages on E71 and E61i.

How to Do Copy Paste:

You just have to press 1 or hold the OK d-pad key down for a while and then you will be able to select text/copy text or paste the text.

For more Opera Mini shortcut keys in E71, just head over to Nokia Addict’s Article.

Update: If inline editing is disabled, then the native phone UI in E71/E61i takes over and CTRL+C / CTRL+V will start working again. To disable Inline editing, just go to the “Settings -> Advanced ->Inline Editing” in Opera Mini 5.

Opera Mini available for Blackberry and Palm Treo

opera miniOpera Mini, the free web browser for mobile phones, is now available for BlackBerry and Palm Treo smartphones. Opera Mini is a user friendly superior mobile browser.

Opera Mini™ is a fast and easy alternative to Opera’s mobile browser, allowing users to access the Web on mobile phones that would normally be incapable of running a Web browser. This includes the vast majority of today’s WAP-enabled phones.

The new version further improves the browsing experience by enabling download of images, MP3s, etc directly to your phone.

Opera Mini uses a remote server to pre-process Web pages before sending them to your phone. Web content is optimized for your device, ensuring fast browsing and a great user experience.

Opera Mini offers the same speed and usability as the renowned Opera mobile browser, and uses Opera™ Small Screen Rendering™ technology to provide access to the Web. It has all the features expected of a browser, and more, such as content download, skinning, bookmarks, browsing history. In addition, Opera Mini recognizes your phone and optimizes Web pages accordingly to provide faster browsing.

There are three ways to get the browser: 1) Point your phone’s current browser to http://mini.opera.com; 2) Send an SMS with the word OPERA to 96077 (SMS charges will apply); 3) Visit the Opera site and use the download wizard.

Update: It seems like once you install it into your Treo, there is a problem. When you attempt to open it, you receive the message “Please ensure that IBM’s WebSphere Micro Environment Java VM is installed.” The program would not open.
This is what you have to do: On the Treo 650, you’ll need Micro Environment Java VM. You can get it here: http://www.palm.com/us/support/jvm/
