LG G3 announced, comes with a 5.5-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 801 and Laser AF

LG has just announced the G3, the company’s latest smartphone in the G series and the successor of last year’s G2. As we all know, the smartphone features a 5.5-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD display, powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor. It runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with new flat UI, has a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual tone LED flashes and a new Laser AF that should provide fast focus, even in low light conditions. The camera will supports 4K video recording and the G3 also comes with a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera that lets you capture images with just a simple hand gesture. Previously believed to be metal, the G3 is actually made of plastic, but with an advantage of a removable back cover that reveals the replaceable 3000 mAH battery and the card slots. The LG G2 already had a great sealed battery, but the G3’s removable option gives the choice for people who might want it. Official LG site reveals LG G3 specs, new features

LG G3 specs and features appeared on LG’s official Dutch website prior to the launch day . The company took down the promotional page immediately however, some of the information was still hanging online for quiet some time.

LG G3 Wireless Charging dock leaked ahead of release

Last week leaked presentation slides confirmed all the specifications of the much anticipated smartphone LG G3. The company also announced QuickCircle Cases for its upcoming flagship smartphone that is scheduled for a launch this week on May 27th. These folder-style case lets users check the time, place calls, send text messages, take photos, listen to music and more from the circular window, without opening the phone. More leaks related to accessories of the phone have surfaced online over the weekend.

LG G3 rumored to be the first smartphone with Snapdragon 805 SoC

LG is the only company that is yet to announce its flagship device and it will probably be the best of what 2014 has to offer. In addition to the rumors circulating about the removable battery, a microSD card slot and a non plastic back, LG G3 is also rumored to be coming with the latest Snapdragon 805 SoC.

Specifications of the LG G3 had leaked several times, but we did not see a render of the G3 yet. GSMArena has got hold of a live image of the upcoming LG flagship that reveals the rear-mounted power button and the volume rocker. The design of these keys are a bit different from the LG G2, G2 mini or other latest G series devices. It also has a new sensor next to the camera, which could be the rumored fingerprint sensor. Leaked LG G3 screenshots reveal beautiful new flat design in QHD resolution

Flat design is the current trend in a smartphone user interface and the movement has been going on for a while. Windows Phone, Android 4.0 ICS and more recently, Apple’s iOS 7 all have embraced flat design to different levels, and it looks like OEMs are finally catching up with their own take on a flat UI. Following Samsung’s latest Touchwiz release, leaked screenshots from a LG G3 reveal a similar direction in which the company is going flat on design and, interestingly, in Quad HD resolution(2560×1440) which confirms what we had heard about the G3 earlier. The icons have lost their gradients and thin lines have taken over gaudy colours, making the new LG UI look much more beautiful to look at, than before.

Gold LG G3 retail box surfaces, Quad HD display confirmed again

LG G3, the upcoming flagship from the Korean manufacturer would also come in Gold colors, according The Verge who got hold of an image of the LG G3 retail box. Its sources have also confirms Quad HD or 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution display. LG unveiled a 5.5-inch Quad HD (QHD) display last year, the G3 is expected to use the same display.The report also reveals that the front styling of the G3 would be similar to the recently leaked LG isai L24 for KDDI in Japan. LG has been coming back to the Android territory rather strongly. The LG Optimus G kicked off things for the South Korean manufacturing giant as it was warmly received by people and Google thought that is how their Nexus range should look like and LG came up with LG Nexus 4 and a similar thing happened with the LG G2 as Google’s Nexus 5 takes its cues from the LG G2. LG G2 was announced sometime in August last year, but it looks like LG G3 could see a June launch giving it time before Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

LG G3 to come with a fingerprint sensor, according to a recent report from Korea Herald. LG is conducting a series of tests for the product with a fingerprint sensor and it is likely to use swipe fingerprint sensor, unlike the iPhone 5S, the report adds. Apple introduced finger print sensor on the iPhone 5s that lets you just place your finger to unlock the device. HTC One Max has a finger print sensor on its back that lets you swipe to unlock the phone and also launch lets you applications by configuring multiple fingers.
