Google’s first India Cloud Platform region launched in Mumbai

Google today has announced the first cloud region in India which goes live in Mumbai. India’s cloud region will join other regions like Singapore, Taiwan, Sydney and Tokyo in Asia Pacific region. Google said that hosting applications in the new region can improve latency from 20-90% for end users in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and of course Mumbai, compared to hosting them in the closest region, Singapore.

Google no longer lets you change country domain, to offer local and relevant search results

Starting today, Google will no longer let you get localized search results just by changing country domain-like Google. com for the USA or google.co.uk for the UK. The company said that it will now offer search results that are relevant to your location no matter which domain you are opening.

Google to address Pixel 2 XL screen and Pixel 2 clicking noise issues with software updates

Since the first batch of Pixel 2 XL review units has gone out, we have been hearing two major issues with the display of the Pixel 2 XL one being the screen burn-in issues and the other is the unsaturated colors. Google was quick to respond, and on 23rd October it mentioned that it had started actively investigating the differential aging or the screen burn-in.

Google extends warranty for Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL to two years worldwide

After confirming that it is actively investigating reports of screen burn-in issue of the Pixel 2 XL, Google today has announced that both the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL come with a two-year warranty at no extra cost. Users who have already purchase the Pixel 2 or the Pixel 2 XL will also be eligible for the two-year warranty.

Apart from the muddy colors and grainy textures in low-light, people with Pixel 2 XL review units have started noticing yet problem which looks worrisome. When viewing the screen with the gray background, you can see faint outlines of the phone’s navigation buttons on the Google Pixel 2 XL.

Google app teardown reveals references to Quartz, could be Google Home-like device with screen

Google has updated the app to version number V7.14.15 which has bought customization feature to the search bar widget but turns out that’s not the only thing the update had to bring with it. A little teardown of the app by Android Police revealed more information about the Quartz which is slated to the Google-Home like device with the built-in display just like the Amazon Echo show.
