Apple could skip M6 Pro and Max chips in favor of AI-focused M7 lineup: Report

Apple is reportedly preparing a major change to its Mac silicon roadmap. According to a Bloomberg report by Mark Gurman, the company, currently on its M5 chip family, plans to introduce only the base M6 processor for entry-level Macs while skipping the M6 Pro and M6 Max variants. Apple is instead expected to debut its next Pro and Max processors as part of an AI-focused M7 generation with more advanced computing and graphics capabilities. Apple updates Mac Studio with M2 Max and M2 Ultra chips

At the WWDC 20223, Apple introduced new Mac Studio with the M2 Max and the new M2 Ultra SoCs, an upgrade to last year’s M1 Ultra model. The Mac Studio promises up to 6x faster than the most powerful Intel-based 27-inch iMac, and up to 3x faster than the previous-generation Mac Studio with M1 Ultra.

Apple said to introduce iPad Air 5th Gen with M1 chip, Mac Studio, new monitor running iOS and more at its event today

We just have few more hours for Apple to introduce its new products at its ‘Peek Performance’ Spring event. Earlier rumours revealed that Apple will introduce the iPhone SE 3 with 5G support, and A15 Bionic chip, but it will retain the same design as the SE 2 with a Touch ID sensor embedded into the Home Button.
