IntoMobile reports that HTC will be holding a press event early next week to announce new Android devices. The invitation which reads ‘Come celebrate in style with HTC’ indicates that the company might be finally launching its much awaited ‘Bliss’ smartphone.

China based B2B company Alibaba had recently launched its ‘Aliyun OS’ which is basically an Android fork targeted towards the Chinese market. Having achieved moderate success , the company now plans to launch an English version of the OS.

Apple has been suing HTC from a long time for infringing various patents, just recently we had heard Apple telling that the whole idea of Android was taken from Apple because Andy Rubin who is the godfather of Android used to work for Apple some 20 years back, but this was not used in the case as Andy Rubin does not really work for HTC. Now HTC has had it enough and with the help of Google are trying to sue Apple.

On Wednesday I attended a Sony Ericsson event where I had some hands-on time with new XPERIA ray and XPERIA arc S which has a beta version of Gingerbread 2.3.4 update. This update will bring about a number of improvements and features, including the ability to record still pictures in 3D.
As the name implies, the XPERIA arc S is a refresh of the XPERIA Arc. If you have read my review you would be aware by how impressed I am by the original arc. But I also questioned whether it would be able to withstand the onslaught of dual core flagships by Samsung and HTC. Well for better or worse, it is exactly the same device as the original Arc with a higher clock speed. It certainly feels speedy but so was the original Arc. Apple has been behind companies manufacturing Android devices from a long time, they have sued every manufacturer having Android devices in their portfolio. Just last month Apple had filed an Injunction against the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 which was valid only in Germany, today the Dusseldorf court has said that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 does infringe some of Apple’s patents.

Launch of the next Apple flagship smartphone is around the corner which will be known as iPhone 5. Well, there’s a little confusion that Apple will be launching two new smartphones sooner or later, one will be known as the iPhone 5 and the other one will be iPhone 4S. Samsung labs have just released a new launcher app for Android based phones. Called ‘Pure Breeze’ the app replaces the default homescreen and allows users to organize their apps, groups, and tasks, and create shortcuts.

A new HTC handset has appeared in the rumor mills which suggest that the Android based smartphone will sport a 4.7″ display. Other specifications include a 1.5Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 processor. 16GB – 32GB of storage can be expected in the handset alongside support for SRS Surround Sound. An 8MP camera capable of capturing 720p video is expected to be found on the back of the device.
