YouTube expands Top News and Breaking News to 17 countries including India, to invest $25 million to support future of news

YouTube continues to rat out fake news and conspiracy theories its video-site platform. As a part of its efforts to streamline quality journalism that requires sustainable revenue, the company slowly has been expanding its funding support beyond Europe and today it is committing $25M to support future of news.

Microsoft today has announced the Surface Go 2-in-1 with a 10-inch display, and this in no way changes Microsoft’s Surface design philosophy. In fact, it does look like a smaller version of the Surface Pro design that has been with us since 2014. It comes with an integrated kickstand with unlimited positions, runs on Windows 10. 

Twitter reportedly suspended more than 70 million fake accounts in May and June

Twitter doesn’t seem to be slowing down its fight against fake users as the company reportedly suspended 70 million accounts in May and June in its attempts to reduce the impact of misinformation. This new count is double the accounts it suspended back in October. 

Xiaomi POCOPHONE with dual rear cameras passes through the FCC

Xiaomi’s brand new POCOPHONE series was in the news a while ago, and some time ago, the first phone under the brand got certified at Taiwan’s NCC. Today, the device again found passing through the FCC. It comes with dual rear cameras and will support both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi bands.

Xiaomi appoints former Jabong executive Muralikrishnan B as India COO

Xiaomi India today announced the appointment of Muralikrishnan B as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). He was India Head of eBay.in in 2011 and later he joined Jabong as COO, which Xiaomi India Head and VP, Manu Kumar Jain co-founded in 2012. Before joining Xiaomi, Muralikrishnan was Senior Vice President of Myntra.

Reliance Jio now has over 215 millions users, more than 25 million JioPhone users

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries at the company’s 41st annual AGM announced that Reliance Jio has crossed 215 million customers in 22 months of launch, compared to 125 million in July last year. Earlier this year when announcing the financial results, the company said that it had over 186 million customers.
