Apple is suing HTC over infringment of patents related to the iPhone. But we doubt that this suit is aimed at HTC , it is aimed at Android or for that matter Google – the creator of the Android operating system. So why is Apple suing HTC and not Google ?
After Nokia’s request to the ITC (International Trade Commission) to ban pretty much every Apple product including the iPhone, iPod and MacBook, Apple have now come up with their own ban request. Apple has reportedly asked the International Trade Commission to ban import of Nokia phones into the US.
The battle between Apple and Nokia got a little more bitter today as Apple Countersues Nokia. Nokia had earlier sued Apple over patent infringements Apple is now claiming that Nokia is stealing their technology.

Nokia has modified its Patent Statement with an exemption for official releases of the Linux Kernel. For an indefinite period of time, Nokia reserves the right of non-assertion and will effectively turn a blind eye to any new functionality added to the kernel that infringes upon some of its patents.
This is intended to help provide what Nokia refers to as a “framework of certainty” around open source.
