Google has updated the Google Calendar app for Android ( version 201305280) that brings new features including option to customize event and calendar colors, redesigned date and time picker, redesigned timezone picker now lets you search time zones and option to schedule repeating events easily. Sony has announced that they would start rolling out the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update for the Xperia S, Xperia SL and Xperia acro S starting from today as they announced last month. The Sony Xperia P, Xperia go and the Xperia E dual got the Jelly Bean update last month. Sony confirmed Jelly Bean update for range of 2012 Xperia devices back in October. Google’s Sundar Pichai sounds off on the future of Nexus at D11

Google’s Sundar Pichai introduced a Google edition of the HTC One at the ATD D11 conference yesterday which we’d reported on earlier. But the announcement was just the first of many interesting tid bits dropped by the Chief of Android and Chrome during his keynote session. While two top end phones by Samsung and HTC might signal the end of the Nexus device program, Pichai was quick to point out that, “The goal with Nexus was to push forward hardware as well. That will continue.”

HTC T6 specifications surface, 5.9-inch 1080p display and 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor

HTC T6, the company’s first phablet surfaced earlier this week. We did not hear anything about the specifications at the time. Thanks to @evleaks, now we have the specifications of the device even though these is no image of the device. According to the report by The Unlockr the phone is expected to come with a 5.9-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) full HD display, powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. It would run on the yet to be announced Android Key Lime Pie with enhanced HTC Sense UI with new BlinkFeed with more content, better customization and offline support. It is expected to come with a UltraPixel rear camera with LED Flash, OIS, BoomSound speakers and Beats audio support support  similar to the HTC One. Apple’s iPhone sales grow 400 percent in India

Credit Suisse has issued a note to clients stating that iPhone sales in India have shot up by close to 400 percent. Reported by the Economic Times, the note suggests that the EMI plans and other schemes initiated in India have had the desired effect resulting in quadrupled sales.

LG Optimus L4 II (E440) and L4 II Dual (E445), new L Series II devices has been announced in Russia.  LG unveiled the Optimus L Series II devices, the Optimus L3 II, the Optimus L5 II and the Optimus L7 II and their dual SIM variants earlier this February. These phones have 3.8-inch (320 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display, powered by a 1 GHz MediaTek MT6575 and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Samsung Galaxy S4 Review

Samsung has carved out a huge market for its Galaxy range of Android phones. One of the most popular phones in the series was the Galaxy S3, clocking over 40 million units in sales as of January this year. HTC One with stock Android launching on June 26th in USA, priced at $599

HTC has finally confirmed the rumors about the HTC One running stock Android. The company just announced on its official blog that a HTC One with Nexus User Experience will be going on sale soon in the US market first. They would continue to sell the developer version and unlocked version directly to users. The HTC One with stock Android will be going on sale on Google’s Play store starting from June 26th but sadly only in the US. The handset has been priced at $599 which is lower than the price of the Galaxy S4 running stock Android which will also be going on sale on the same day for $649. Wikipedia Nearby for mobile web launched, shows location-based information

WikimediaFoundation has launched Nearby feature for mobile web that shows Wikipedia articles near your location that would let you explore the nearby places and view images. The photo upload features was launched for mobile web back in March. You can log in using your Wikipedia credentials to upload photos. Now you can also take part in improving details about your nearby location by adding an image to the article if it’s missing. You can notice the missing image with a camera icon next to the articles. Press image of the Huawei Ascend W2 has surfaced online. The phone appeared on a Chinese forum last year and specs of the phone appeared last month. The Huawei Ascend W1, the company’s first Windows Phone 8 device leaked last October, which as unveiled at the CES 2013 earlier this year. Windows Phone 8 sync app for the desktop comes out of beta, adds new features

The Windows Phone desktop app for Windows Phone 8 devices has finally come out of the beta, after over six months in preview form. The app, which is used to manage files and sync media with your Windows Phone 8 device has been hardly a replacement for the excellent Zune solution for the earlier generation Windows Phone 7 devices. But with Windows Phone 8 adding the MTP protocol for file management, the Zune app has been useless, while the Windows Phone app, with its limited features, proved of little utility. Anyway, the app has now added more features and is now available for download, in case you are craving for a decent sync app for Windows Phone 8, and don’t want to go down the explorer route.

Apple supply chain to shift from Foxconn to Pegatron

In a move aimed at giving Apple greater supply chain balance, the company is expected to shift over a greater percentage of manufacturing to Pegatron. Historially, Foxconn has been responsible for the production of all iPhones and iPads. However starting 2011, Pegatron has been responsible for making a small segment of iPhones and has since graduated on to production of the iPad Mini.

Tata Sky Mobile app has been updated to version 3.0. This is a major update since its launch last year. This update brings WiFi remote that lets you control your Tata Sky+ HD box over WiFi. You can swipe to change channels and volume, change channels by tapping on your channel logo and more. You can also set shows for recording and set reminders through the app. The Tata Sky Mobile for iPhone and iPad got the update with these features last month. MediaTek announces new MT8125 Quad Core chip for tablets

MediaTek, the well known chip manufacturer, famous for the low cost powerful SoCs, has launched another SoC, codenamed the MT8125 specifically aimed at tablets. The tablet market as we know is currently dominated by the smaller ones, that are of the mid range segment, driving volume for the overall market, according to IDC. At this crucial time, MediaTek seems to want to take advantage, by releasing its own solution for tablets after the success of its MT6589 Quad Core chips in various phones in the low-mid range. The Quad Core Cortex A7 processor will support frequencies upto 1.5 GHz and will be powered by the PowerVR Series5XT graphics.
