HTC has updated its HTC Sense TV app that finally brings support for Indian TV program listings. This let you add a TV service provider from the settings to view the current or upcoming TV listing and detailed program guide easily. This feature is currently in beta so the program guide might not be perfect. This app uses the phone’s Infrared sensor to control TV, set-top box or a home theater system easily. Facebook has updated its beta Windows Phone app with new video uploading feature. Windows Phone 8 and 8.1 users can now upload videos to Facebook directly from their mobile. At the menu bar at the bottom of the app there are three buttons Status, Photo and Check -in. By clicking on the Photo button users can now select a video to upload to their Facebook account.

After accidentally launching Slingshot app on the Apple App store last week and taking it down, Facebook has officially released the app. Available on iOS and Android, the app will enables user to send disappearing photo and video messages. However, there is a catch as Slingshot requires users to share something before they can view any images from others.

Samsung has finally unveiled the Galaxy S5 broadband LTE-A in Korea as expected. It has a 5.1-inch (2560 x1440 pixels) Super AMOLED display, powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has 3GB of RAM, compared to 2GB RAM on the Galaxy S5. Other features are similar to the Galaxy S5, including a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. Specifications of the smartphone has also been revealed in the leak. Amazon is scheduled to host an event on 18th June where it is expected to reveal its upcoming smartphone. The device will distinguish itself from the competition through the use of a special 3D interface that will make use of retina tracking technology.
The technology will allow users to navigate the interface through the use of four cameras embedded along the corners of the phone. This will allow for a glasses free experience. The device will be revealed at the company’s event in Seattle later this week. Amazon is already courting developers to adopt and make applications for the unique interface used on the smartphone. While little is known of the specifications of the device, the handset will be neck deep in the Amazon ecosystem and will most likely be sold at or near cost similar to the company’s tablet offerings. Popular Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi is expected to make its debut in India very soon. Ahead of the launch, its website has gone live that proves to be rather short on details but does help create a bit of buzz around the launch. Xiaomi is also making its presence felt via their official Facebook page.
The launch of the website and the company’s India specific social properties makes us believe that Xiaomi devices might go on sale sooner than the Diwali time frame that has been hinted at previously. The latest version 7.0 will bring 250 new emoji characters to iOS, Android and Windows Phone smartphones.
