LG reports Q2 2014 earnings, record 14.5 million smartphones shipped
LG Electronics has announced their earnings for Q2 2014, in which it has reported net profit of 412 billion Won (US$ 399.8 million) with operating profits of 606 billion Won (US$ 588.5 million). Mobile communications sector earned revenues of 3.62 trillion Korean Won (US$ 3.51 billion), 16% increase YoY. Gionee Elife E7 mini gets Android 4.4 Kitkat update in India
Gionee has released the Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) update for the Elife E7 mini in India. The company rolled out KitKat update for the Elife S5.5 and CTRL V5 smartphones in India earlier this month. Unlike the OTA update for those phones, update for the Elife E7 mini needs to be installed via flash tools. The Elife E7 mini went on sale in India back in April running Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), and the KitKat update brings revamped user interface, enhanced features like an updated Amigo paper and game zone, wallpapers application, improved security and more. Uber rolls out Windows Phone app
After launching on iOS and Andorid, Uber has parked its car at the Windows Phone Store. The popular on demand car service has officially announced the release of Windows Phone. Prior to this, Uber users had to access the service via its mobile site. The Uber Windows Phone app is mostly similar to its iOS and Android counterpart barring few Microsoft Metro UI redesign.

Xiaomi Mi3 sellout on Flipkart: How many devices?
As expected, Xiaomi continued their flash sale marketing with their first sale in India on 22nd July. This came after a week of registrations, when over a lakh Indians registered to be eligible to buy the device when it goes on sale. Modern Combat 5: Blackout coming to Windows Phone and Windows too on July 24th
Earlier this month Gameloft announced that the Modern Combat 5: Blackout would launch on Android, iPhone and iPad on July 24th. Recently Gameloft has announced that the game would also launch on Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 this Thursday. Gameloft launched 16 games for Windows Phone 8 last year and would bring all upcoming HD titles to Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 platforms immediately after they launch. Flipkart secures whopping Rs. 6000 Cr in latest funding: Report
Flipkart, the big daddy of the Indian e-commerce is about to get bigger. The company has raised eye popping $1 billion (Rs. 6000 Crore) in the latest round of funding from new and existing investors, according to a report from the Economic Times.
