Close to 14 months after the launch of the Mi 5, Xiaomi finally introduced it’s successor earlier this month. Predictably called the Mi 6, the phone continues the tradition of bringing top of the line specifications at half the price of current flagships. In India though, the Redmi series remains the bread and butter for the company. The future of Xiaomi’s flagship line in India remains a bit dubious due to less than stellar sales but given an opportunity, we just couldn’t resist going hands on with the latest and greatest from the company. Facebook Messenger Lite for Android expands to 132 more countries

Facebook launched Messenger Lite app for Android for emerging markets such as Kenya, Tunisia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Venezuela back in October last year. Now Facebook has announced that it is expanding the app to 132 more countries including Germany, Colombia, Italy, Vietnam, Algeria, Morocco, Nigeria, Peru, Turkey, Japan, Taiwan and the Netherlands. Smartphone vendors shipped a total of 347.4 million smartphones worldwide in the first quarter of 2017 (1Q17), as per the latest  International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker. In light of what might seem like a slowing market, consumers continue to show demand for smartphones and OEM flagship hype seems strong as ever.

Renders of Moto E4 and Moto E4 Plus first surfaced earlier this month. More images of the phones surfaced last week. Earlier leaks revealed  Moto E4 will pack 2800mAh battery, 16GB of internal storage and Android 7.0 (Nougat), and Moto E4 Plus could pack 5000mAh battery with MediaTek SoC and Android 7.0 (Nougat). Earlier images showed  front flash, fingerprint sensor and dual tone LED flash for the rear camera. Now detailed specifications of the phones have surfaced. Samsung is all set to launch Samsung Z4, the company’s new Tizen OS smartphone and the successor of Samsung Z3 that was introduced back in October 2015. User manual of the phone with model number SM-Z400F/DS has surfaced revealing separate dual LED flash present on the back on either side of the cameras as well as flash on the front.
