Nokia N97 Blogger Event in Bangalore Was Great , Lotsa Stuff Coming Up

We were at the Nokia N97 Launch Event in Bangalore yesterday and we got a great opportunity to talk to Axel Meyer, Head of Nokia Design. The N97 was showcased to bloggers in the event.

Axel gave a presentation about the N97 which featured some great videos like the making of the N97 which you might have seen before.There was a lifesize N97 on the stage and even the background had the Phone’s design.

Apple just announced the next version of the iPhone and its the 3GS and supposed to be faster than the 3G version .

Apple iPhone Video and iChat appear in Operator Inventory – Variants , Price and colors Revealed

WWDC is Tomorrow and the next gen Apple iPhone  has been leaked on an Italian Website SpazioCellulaire

See the screen of the inventory below showing all the different variants of the new iphone .

  • The new iphones are called iPhone Video and iPhone Video iChat
  • There are possibly 12 variants of the phone
  • 16 GB – 64 GB memory to be available
  • Its going to be available in various colors – White , Black, Orange , Green with Flower, Yellow , Red – This concept was bang on target Apple wants to carry the ipod nano colors concept to the iphone too

Some interesting facts about the colors are the Green W/Flowers , Yellow with fluffy bunnies

Even the price of the new phones have been leaked.

The 64GB version might cost $179 – $199 . Apple might charge extra for colors.

I got my hands on the Nokia E75 Red Edition. I have been using this phone for the past few weeks after you saw the unboxing video.

The phone is attractive and fits nicely in the hand. The Camera has got some serious improvement over the E71. Music playback is good. I have been checking 3 email accounts and like the email application

Some Anonymous source used the contact form on the blog and sent me a pic of what looks like the Apple iPhone 2009. Its not credible . I have never heard from the this guy before. So for now this is another rumour of the next gen iPhone.

Live from Nokia Take-Back Campaign in Chennai

Today is World Environment Day and Nokia had something special in store for us .

We were invited to the launch of the Nokia’s Take-Back initiative in Chennai related to  recycling phones.

The event marked the nationwide roll-out of the Take-Back recycling program in over 15 cities in India.

Nokia will plant a tree for every phone dropped in the Recycle bins spread accross the country

Making Eco-Friendly products and controlling the carbon footprint of phones seems to be one of the goals  of the company

Dr.Ambrish Bakaya , Director Corporate Affairs was present at the event. We had the chance to interview him

Padmashri Shobana , Dancer and Actor was also present at the event and she contributed her old phone for the the cause.

Nokia N97 to start selling in India for Rs.35000 on June 23rd

Nokia’s flagship touch-screen handset N97 will be launched nationwide within two weeks at a likely price of around Rs.35,000, the company announced Thursday.

This announcement comes after Nokia HQ announced worldwide availability of the phone

We were lucky to get our hands on this phone.

“The handset is expected to begin shipping in India in the next two weeks,” Vineet Taneja, director-marketing of Nokia India, told reporters here.
