Samsung to unveil Galaxy Note 2 at IFA on August 29

Samsung spokesperson has confirmed Reuters that they plan to unveil the next Galaxy Note at the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event in Berlin on August 29. Samsung started sending invites yesterday for the Unpacked event scheduled for August 29th. LG Optimus L3 Dual E405 now available in India for Rs. 8299


LG Optimus L3 Dual E405 , Dual SIM version of the Optimus L3 that was announced in June, is now available in India from online retailer Flipkart. It has a dedicated SIM switch button similar to the Optimus Net Dual, to switch between the SIM cards quickly and has Dual standby support. Other features are similar to the single SIM version such as, 3.2-inch (320×240 pixels) display, 800MHz Processor, 3MP camera. It runs on Android 2.3.6 (Gingerbread). HTC Radar price drops to Rs. 15799

The HTC Radar has got a price cut in India, and is available for just Rs. 15,799 from online retailer Flipkart. It was launched in India last October for Rs. 23,990. This would compete with Nokia Lumia 710 that got a price cut in January and retails for Rs.15,499 and Omnia W that is also available for almost similar price, after a price cut in February. 4G LTE BlackBerry PlayBook launching in Canada first on August 9th, others countries in coming months

 

RIM (Research in Motion) has finally announced the 4G LTE BlackBerry PlayBook, after lot of rumors. Samsung begins mass production of 64GB embedded flash memory for mobiles devices

Samsung has announced that they have started producing ultra-fast embedded memory for smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices in 16, 32 and 64-gigabyte (GB) densities. Samsung Embedded Multimedia Card (eMMC) Pro Class 1500 delivers up to 140 MB/s (megabytes per second) sequential reading speeds and up to 50 MB/s sequential writing speeds. HTC Desire VC Dual SIM (GSM + CDMA) smartphone now available in India for Rs. 20950

HTC Desire VC that was announced along with the Desire V in June is now available in India from online retailer Saholic in India. It is a Dual SIM smartphone with Dual Active feature, and supports CDMA and GSM networks on each SIM cards. The specs are similar to the Desire V including, 4-inch (480 x 800 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, 1GHZ single-core processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with HTC Sense 4.0 UI. It is  9.42 mm thick and weighs 118 g. Fujitsu, NTT DOCOMO, NEC partners to develop smartphone chips

Japan’s Fujitsu Limited, NTT DOCOMO INC., NEC Corporation and Fujitsu Semiconductor Limited have announced a joint venture to develop and sell semiconductor products with built-in modem. Xperia smartphones from 2011 might get Jelly Bean update says Sony


Sony has officially announced that they are investigating future Android OS upgrades for all devices including 2011 Xperia smartphones. John Cooper, Product Manager of Sony UK who attended an online Q&A session on Facebook last week said that XPERIA Arc S and the XPERIA mini Pro would not be upgraded to Jelly Bean. Sony says that the information from the spokesperson about the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) software development and rollout for 2011 Xperia smartphones was an error. Sony Xperia Tablet with 9.4-inch display, Tegra 3 quad-core processor surface

Range of slides with the details about Sony Xperia Tablet has surfaced on XDA developers forum. According to the source who claims to working for Sony, this first tablet under Xperia brand and would come with aluminium splash-proof body, 9.4-inch (1280 x 800) display similar to the Tablet S but would be powered by Tegra 3 quad-core CPU. It would run on Android 4.0 or later (we can expect Jelly Bean) and would come with a 1MP front-facing camera and a 8MP rear camera. It would be 8.8mm-thick, 42% thinner than the Tablet S. Micromax Funbook Pro 10.1-inch tablet running Android 4.0 now available for Rs. 9999

Micromax has introduced Funbook Pro, successor of the Funbook that launched in April. It is now available in India exclusively from online retailer Snapdeal. Other than the 10.1-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) display, most of the specs are similar including, 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 processor, 0.3MP VGA front facing camera and 3G via Tata Docomo Photon+ Dongle . The RAM has been upgraded to 1GB and it comes with 8GB internal memory with expandable micro SD slot and 5600 mAh battery.
