Flipboard for Android updated with Audio support and performance improvements

Flipboard for Android finally gets Audio support along with the Sound Cloud integration with the latest version 1.9.7 update. Flipboard for iPhone and iPad got audio support back in May, but the first official version of Flipboard for Android that launched did not have the audio support. The new update finally brings audio support from SoundCloud and radio programming from NPR and Public Radio International (PRI) that lets you explore the new Audio category in the new content guide while reading their Flipboard. Sony Xperia J launched in India for Rs. 18,399


Sony has launched the Xperia J, their new Android Smartphone in India. It went on pre-order online earlier this week and has a 4.0-inch (854 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and is powered by 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), which is upgradable to Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5MP auto focus camera with LED flash at the back and a VGA front-facing camera. It offers an illumination alert for social media updates whenever notifications are received. LG Nexus 4 pre-order page goes live early, specs confirmed

Looks like Carphone Warehouse has jumped the gun and put up the Google’s LG Nexus 4 pre-order page online, a week ahead of the Google’s Android event slated for 29th October. LG reports net profit of $138.57 million in Q3 2012, Mobile phone sales up by 5.4%

LG Electronics has announced their earnings for Q3 2012. They have reported net profit of 157 billion Won (US$ 138.57 million) with operating profits of 221 billion Won (US$ 195.06 million). The Mobile phone sales were 5.4 percent more compared to last quarter with operating profit of 22 billion Korean Won (US$ 19.42 million), but it is 11.4% less compared to Q3 2011. LG shipped 14 million units of mobile phones in Q3 2012, 9 percent increase compared to previous quarter. Sony Xperia J up for pre-order in India for Rs. 16490


Sony Xperia J is now available for pre-order in India from online retailer Flipkart. It was announced in Augustat IFA 2012 in Berlin.  The Xperia J has a 4.0-inch (854 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display with gorilla glass protection, 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM7227A processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), which is upgradable to Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Nokia Lumia 510 with 4-inch display, 5MP camera, Windows Phone 7.5 announced in India, coming this Diwali

Nokia has announced the Lumia 510 in India. It comes with a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, 800 MHz  Snapdragon S1 Processor and would come with a 5 Megapixel auto focus camera. It runs on Windows Phone 7.5 OS which is upgradable to Windows Phone 7.8 in future. Other features would be similar to the Nokia Lumia 610. It would let the users to access to social networks, which includes Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.  It also comes with 3 months unlimited Nokia Music and Mix Radio.

LG Optimus Vu launched in India for Rs. 34500

LG has launched the Optimus Vu (P895) in India for Rs. 34500 (MRP). LG India revealed the price of the device on their website last week. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has a 5-inch (1024 × 768 Pixels) IPS Display with 4:3 Aspect Ratio and has a 8 Megapixel camera at the back with LED flash, 1080p HD video recording and a 1.3 Megapixel front-facing camera for video calling. It was announced last month along with the Asha 309 and comes with a 3.0-inch (240 x 400 pixels) scratch-resistant capacitive touch display and runs on Nokia Asha OS with Swipe Interface.  It is 13mm thick and weighs 103.69 grams. LG Optimus Vu gets priced at Rs. 34,500 on LG India website

We already told you back in July that the LG Optimus Vu would launch in India within this year. Now, the LG Optimus Vu has been priced at Rs. 34,500 on LG India’s website, which would officially launch next week. LG announced the Optimus Vu at MWC 2012 earlier this February that packed in a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon Processor, but they announced in August that the Vu would launch in global markets with a 1.5 GHz Tegra 3 quad-core processor and Android 4.0 out of the box. Motorola announces Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update schedule

Motorola has announced the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update for list of devices. The company announced the ICS update schedule back in February, and the Razr and Razr Maxx were the first phones to get the the Android 4.0 update in India first, followed by the Atrix 2 in September. Even though the new update schedule is only for the U.S, the international Razr and Razr Maxx would also get the update eventually. Sony confirms Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for range of Xperia devices, No Jelly Bean for 2011 Xperia devices


Sony Mobile has confirmed the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update for range of Xperia devices. Sony has also said that they have started shipping Xperia T and Xperia TX for the global markets, and the Xperia V would ship soon. These three phones would be the first to get the update in mid-Q1 2013. Sony started rolling out ICS update for the Xperia U, Xperia Sola and Xperia Go recently. Earlier this August Sony said that the 2011 Xperia devices might get the Jelly Bean update, but now they have confirmed that those devices that got the Android 4.0.4 update would not be upgraded beyond Ice Cream Sandwich.
