NVIDIA has announced the Tegra K1, the company’s latest 192-core processor at the International CES 2014 in Las Vegas just now. Last year NVIDIA showed-off Logan mobile SoC with Kepler GPU, now the next-gen Tegra K1 mobile processor uses the same Keplar GPU. NVIDIA has announced that Epic Games would bring Unreal Engine 4 to Tegra K1. Kepler GPU also supports latest OpenGL 4.4 and Direct X 11.1. LG has registered for new trademarks ahead of CES, as reported by Phandroid. LG is all set to showcase their new TVs and home appliances at the CES 2014 next week. Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon 805 processor with Ultra HD support and Adreno 420 GPU back in November last year. After several reports, Bitspin has confirmed that Google has indeed acquired the markers of Timely alarm clock app for Android. It also announced that the app is now free forever, including in-app purchases. It would work with Google to build new apps. These companies did not reveal the price of the deal. BlackBerry has updated the BlackBerry Messenger Beta for Android that brings BBM Voice and BBM Channels to the Android app. BBM Voice was released on BBM for BlackBerry devices last year that lets users to call your BBM friends directly from the chat screen. BBM Channels was released for BlackBerry devices that lets you join conversations happening with the BBM community such as brands and communities. Sony would unveil a host of home appliances, gadgets and mobile devices at the International CES next week. Sony China has set a press event in China on January 14th 2014. Even though the press invite doesn’t reveal much details , the colors in the Sony China invite shows Lime, Black, White and Pink, similar to the Sony Xperia Z1 f (SO-02F), the Japanese variant of the Z1 mini that was released for NTT Docomo last year. Google and LG partnered to launch the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition back in December last year. We already unboxed the tablet, here we have the benchmarks of the tablet. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz with Adreno 320 GPU and packs 2GB of LPDDR2 RAM, similar to the global variant of the LG G Pad 8.3. It has a 8.3-inch Full HD IPS WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels) display and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Let’s see how it performs in various synthetic benchmark tests. Since Google has optimized the processor to use the minimal use of CPU cores when the phone is idle, some benchmark might not show the correct scores.

Acer has announced Iconia B1-720 and B1-721, upgraded version of last year’s Iconia B1-A71 tablet. It ha a 7-inch capacitive touch screen 10-point multi-touch display based on One Glass Solution technology and is powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor (Probably MediaTek MT6572, similar to the Liquid Z5. It runs on Android Jelly Bean OS, but the version is not available yet. It also comes with a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera for video chats. The Iconia B1-721 has 3G support and the Iconia B1-720 comes with WiFi. Both these have 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal and an expansion slot. Acer has just announced that Acer Iconia A1-830 tablet after teasing it for the past few days. It has a 7.9-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) LED-backlit IPS display with 178 degree viewing angle and 4:3 aspect ratio and is powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor with Hyper-Threading technology. It has a aluminum metal back cover and sturdy frame for enhanced durability and weighs 380 grams. Android version is not available yet, but it is likely to run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean).
