Huawei has sent out invites for the launch of its flagship P9 smartphone in India on August 17th. It was announced back in April and packs dual 12-megapixel rear cameras with Leica SUMMARIT lenses and 1.25-micron pixels promising brilliant image quality in low-light conditions. Samsung just announced its flagship Galaxy Note7 smartphone at its Galaxy Unpacked 2016 event in New York. It has a 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560×1440 pixels) Super AMOLED curved edge display with always-on feature. It is powered by a Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8 Octa 8890 processor depending on the market, runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), has a 12-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, OIS and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Asus has announced ZenPad 3 8.0 (Z581KL) its latest Android tablet in the ZenPad series. It packs a 7.9-inch QXGA screen, is powered by an Hexa-Core Snapdragon 650 SoC and runs on Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) with ZenUI on top. It is similar to the ZenPad Z8 (ZT581KL) that was introduced for Verizon, but this comes in 4GB RAM with 32GB storage variant as well, in addition to 2GB RAM with 16GB storage variant. It recently started offering 4G ready SIMs at 250 Branded Stores and over 5,000 multi brand outlets across Haryana. Even though the invite just says to block the date, it also says that Samsung’s next flagship will be unveiled at the event. This will likely be the Samsung Galaxy Note7 that will be introduced at an event in New York later today at 8:30 PM IST. It will also be streamed live in 360-degrees. Google has started rolling out new over-the-air (OTA) update for Nexus devices and also posted factory images as part of monthly Android Security release. The latest update this month fixes several critical issues, including issues in Elevation of Privilege Vulnerability in framework APIs, Mediaserver, S hell and Remote Code Execution Vulnerability in Mediaserver and more. In addition to security fixes for August 1st, this also includes another update dated August 5th that cover hardware vulnerabilities on Nexus devices.
