Right as Intel announced its latest 10th Gen Core H-Series processors, ASUS has updated its ROG lineup with 7 new laptops, with GPU options that go up to a GTX 2080 Super. Some features in these laptops include 300Hz refresh rate displays with Pantone calibration, liquid metal cooling and even a second screen.

Razer Blade 15 with up to 8-core Intel 10th Gen CPU, up to RTX 2080 Super Max-Q and 300Hz display announced

Razer has announced yet another update to its Blade lineup of laptops, continuing its confusing name with the latest one called Blade 15 (Early 2020). It is powered with Intel’s latest 10th Gen Core i7 H-series processors, and can be configured up to NVIDIA’s latest RTX 2080 Super with Max-Q and even has an option for a 300Hz display.

Lenovo Legion 7i and 5i with 10th gen Intel Core processor, up to RTX 2080 Super Max-Q and RTX 2060 respectively announced

Lenovo has announced two new laptops as part of its gaming-focused Legion laptops, of which the more premium Legion 7i will have up to a RTX 2080 Super Max Q design while its sibling 5i will be powered by up to RTX 2060. Both laptops will also have Intel’s newest 10th Gen H-series processors.

HUAWEI P40 Pro rear and front cameras top DxO Mark benchmark score

Dark Sky hyperlocal weather app purchased by Apple; loses Android app

Dark Sky, a very popular hyper-local weather app, has been acquired by Apple for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition will result in a number of changes that include integration of Dark Sky into the iOS native Weather app and removal of the Android app and its APIs.

Zoom Cloud Meetings for iOS will no longer send information to Facebook

A few days ago, it was discovered that the popular video conferencing app, Zoom was sending telemetry information for iOS users to Facebook without clearly informing the user. A day later, Zoom issued an update to its iOS app to remove the code that sent information to Facebook and also updated its privacy policy.

YouTube to set Standard definition quality as default worldwide [Update: Restricted to 480p on mobile phones in India]

Update: YouTube has now made Standard Definition (480p) as maximum when streaming on mobile (both 4G and Wi-Fi) in India temporarily to manage the server load during the lockdown period. Since this only applies to India, you can use VPN if you want to watch videos in 720p or more.

Apple’s 2021 Mac lineup may have ARM-based processors, USB4 support in 2020

For a few years, many analysts have predicted that Apple is working towards releasing an ARM-based version of their popular Mac devices, considering how powerful its ‘A series’ SoCs have become. Now, well known Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo has noted that 2020 Macs from later on may finally have Apple’s in-house ARM based processors powering it.
