Airtel launches new affordable 3G plans


Airtel has launched new 3G plans for pre-paid and post-paid customers after Aircel launched new 3G plans last month. They have also introduced Smartbytes additional data usage packs for its postpaid Airtel mobile customers on 3G. Now the plans start at 10MB that would offer 30 minutes of 3G access valid for 1 day. Now Rs. 100 pack offers 300MB free data, Rs. 250 3G pack would offer 1GB of free data, Rs. 450 pack would offer 2GB of free data and Rs 1500 pack would offer 10GB free data that are valid for 30 days. Airtel launches new 4G tariff plan for Kolkata


Airtel has launched new Break Free Ultimate plan at Rs. 2,999 for the customers in Kolkata, following an encouraging response from customers. They launched 4G LTE services in Bengaluru earlier this week along with this new plan. The Break Free Ultimate plan offers 30GB free usage. These plans are available in Prepaid and Postpaid. Sierra Wireless 4G LTE Tri-Fi Hotspot coming to Sprint on May 18 for $99.99

Sprint and Sierra Wireless has 4G LTE Tri-Fi Hotspot that is the first device in the US to combine 4G connections over LTE and WiMAX networks. With the Sierra Wireless Tri-Fi Hotspot, customers can extend their Sprint 3G/4G experience beyond their laptops to up to eight Wi-Fi enabled devices. It also has a microSD slot that enables you to share files with network storage and could be used as a digital media server without any software. Airtel launches 4G LTE services in Bengaluru

Airtel has launched their 4G LTE services in Bengaluru followed by the launch in Kolkata last month. They appointed Huawei to mange their network in Karnataka. As an introductory offer customers subscribing to 4G services will now be given a cash-back for the CPE / dongle that are priced at Rs. 7,750 and Rs. 7,999 respectively. Airtel 4G is now also available in an all new break free ultimate plan that offers 30GB free usage and is priced at Rs. 2999. They have also introduced Smartbytes so that customers can buy these add on packs and continue enjoying the 4G experience even after exhausting their monthly data limits on their plan.

MTNL Mumbai launches new 3G plans for prepaid and postpaid customers

HTC One X available from AT&T from May 6, One S coming to T-Mobile on April 25 for $199.99

Both the HTC One X and the One S has received the release date and price in the U.S, that were announced earlier this February for AT&T and T-Mobile. The HTC One X has 4.7 inch Super LCD touchscreen display, 8MP with Full HD (1080p) video recording, LED Flash and 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera and 4G LTE support. The HTC One S has 4.3 inch Super AMOLED display, 8MP auto focus camera with flash and VGA front-facing camera and 4G (HSPA+ 42) support. These are powered by 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor and run on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with HTC Sense 4 UI. Reliance partners with Google, offers 1GB free 3G Data for Android phones

Reliance Communications (RCOM) and Google has entered into a two-year deal to market the Android mobile operating system and Google Mobile Services in order to promote the usage of Android devices in India. Reliance becomes the first telecom operator in the country to collaborate with Google. They offer 1GB of free 3G data usage for one month to all Android device users in India. Airtel 4G Tariffs 6GB for Rs.999 , 16GB for Rs.1999

As the Airtel 4G website went live few hours ago , the tariffs have also appeared on the site. The plans start from Rs.999 for 6GB of data and the top-end plan is Rs.1999 for 18GB of data. There is also a plan for Rs.1399 which gives you 9GB of free usage.  Initially , these plans will be available only over USB modems and will be available on both Prepaid and Postpaid. After you cross the free data quota , your speed will be throttled to 128 Kbps as per Fair Usage Policy.

Airtel 4G Website goes live before launch , coming to Kolkata first

When Airtel was telling us about 4G launch plans , you might have thought they were kidding as we are still getting used to 3G. But the Airtel 4G website just went live. The 4G LTE networks promises speeds up to 40Mbps. The network uses 4G LTE-TDD technology which supports speeds up to 100 Mbps.Initially access will be based on a 4G USB Modem and then a 4G LTE Indoor Wireless Gateway option would be available. Tariffs look attractive for most users but not for heavy downloaders with plans starting at Rs.999 per month for 6GB and Rs.1999 for 18GB. According to the website the plans will be available both on prepaid and postpaid. You will need a new number for airtel 4G LTE which will be using an USIM module.
