The tablet market in India has reported quarter-on-quarter growth of 3.6%, according to a report by Research Firm IDC (International Data Corporation). A total of 0.96 million tablets were shipped in the Q4, 2014. iBall that was in the third spot, behind Micromax in Q3 2014 has jumped up to the first spot in Q4 2014 overtaking Samsung, to be come the leading tablet maker in the country in terms of shipments. Samsung Galaxy Tab S 2 tablets in 8-inch (SM-T710) and 9.7-inch variants soon will be unveiled soon, according to Sammobile. It has also leaked the specifications of the tablets that would come with 2048×1536 pixels 4:3 Super AMOLED displays, similar to the iPad Air’, instead of 2560×1600 pixels WQXGA 16:10 displays on the first Tab S series. These tablets will just be 5.4mm thin, making it thinner than the iPad Air 2 that is 6.1mm thick, according to the leak, as rumored earlier. Asus has announced Fonepad 7 FE375CL, the company’s latest Fonepad 7 variant with LTE support and Android 5.0 (Lollipop). It has the same 7-inch HD display seen on Asus Fonepad 7 (FE375CG) that was introduced last year, but this is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3530 processor and comes with single SIM support. It is the company’s first rugged Galaxy tablet with anti-shock covering that can withstand a 1.2-meter drop, with the protective cover on.
