Lenovo launched the Tab 2 A7-10 tablet in India for Rs. 4,999, but this comes in 2G and 3G variants with voice calling capabilities. Indian tablet market soars 3.6% in Q4 2014, iBall overtakes Samsung: Report

The tablet market in India has reported quarter-on-quarter growth of 3.6%, according to a report by Research Firm IDC (International Data Corporation). A total of 0.96 million tablets were shipped in the Q4, 2014. iBall that was in the third spot, behind Micromax in Q3 2014 has jumped up to the first spot in Q4 2014 overtaking Samsung, to be come the leading tablet maker in the country in terms of shipments. The tablet has a 10.1-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display,  is powered by a 1.7GHz Octa-Core processor, runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) and comes with dual chambered speakers that promises load and clear sound. Samsung Galaxy Tab S 2 8-inch and 9.7-inch specs surface

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 2 tablets in 8-inch (SM-T710) and 9.7-inch variants soon will be unveiled soon, according to Sammobile. It has also leaked the specifications of the tablets that would come with 2048×1536 pixels 4:3 Super AMOLED displays, similar to the iPad Air’, instead of 2560×1600 pixels WQXGA 16:10 displays on the first Tab S series. These tablets will just be 5.4mm thin, making it thinner than the iPad Air 2 that is 6.1mm thick, according to the leak, as rumored earlier. Samsung has announced the Galaxy Tab Active tablet for India at the Samsung Forum in Bangkok. It is the company’s first rugged Galaxy tablet with anti-shock covering that can withstand a 1.2-meter drop, with the protective cover on. It has 8.0-inch WXGA displays, powered by 1.2 quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It is also water and dust resistant with IP67 certification.
