Some of the Indian telecom providers have increased their mobile tariffs recently. MTNL has announced that it will not increase the call tariffs in any of its plans for both prepaid & post-paid customers. They also offer free SIM cards for new customers and new FRC plans such as, calls at 50p/min, Any Call at 1p/ Sec and Local MTNL network call at 1/2 p per Second. We managed to get hold of a IDEA 3G connection as the operator has silently rolled out 3G services in Chennai and Tamil Nadu. As you all might know , IDEA does not have a license in this circle and has inked a deal with Vodafone to offer 3G services here. Our test device was the ultra fast HTC Flyer which supports HSPA networks upto 14.4 Mbps.
